Transfer Station Identification Card

Brazeau County is working to insure that only County Residents use County Transfer Sta ons.

Please be advised that all County landowners have been issued a Transfer Sta on Iden fica on Card. Anyone living in the household of the card holders can present the card at the Transfer Sta on to deposit acceptable waste.

If renters or addi onal, separate residents need an Iden fica on Card, the registered landowner must apply for an addi on card and is ul mately responsible for that card under the terms and condi ons outlined by Brazeau County.

Please contact our Administra on office at 780‐542‐7711 for more informa on or if you wish to cancel a card or report a lost or stolen card.

The “Blue Bag” program as it is commonly referred to is now set up at all eight transfer sites throughout the County.

The Blue Bag program allows residents to recycle their household recyclables without the bother of sor ng it. Clean recyclable products can all be put into the bags and taken to the nearest transfer sta on.

Read on in this brochure for more recycling info & watch our website for upcoming recycling ps.

Now, get started and reuse, reduce, & recycle! It’s the right thing to do!

Please note that we no longer accept grass clippings or leaves at the Rocky Rapids Transfer Sta on. All clippings and leaves must be bagged and placed in regular garbage bins or they can be taken to the Drayton Valley Landfill Recycling Area. Thank you

Brazeau County works in conjunc on with CleanFARMS to provide a recycling program for pes cide and herbicide containers. Through stewardshipfirstTM and CleanFARMS program, more than 70 millions empty plas c pes cide containers have been collected across Canada since the program’s incep on making Canada a world leader in container management. CleanFARMS highlights the industry and farmers’ commitment to container recycling. Farmers across the county are par cipa ng in this voluntary‐led program, resul ng in the return of over 73% of all empty pes cide containers annually. CropLife Canada, its members, farmers and various industry stakeholders work together to ensure that empty containers are appropriately rinsed and disposed of safely. CropLife Canada pucks up containers at the return sites, shreds them and transports the material to various recyclers, where it manufactured into drainage le for use back on the farm. It is so easy, and there is no cost the farmer/resident. Containers should be pressure‐rinsed or triple‐rinsed and the paper booklet removed, then returned to their local dealer. Just rinse,

remove and return. With a 73% par cipa on rate, more than 70 million containers recycled and the best results in the world, we can safely call this a great success, pat ourselves on the back and leave it at that, right? Wrong. As with any ini a ve, when you achieve success, the smartest next step is to build on that success to achieve even be er results. So we’re se ng the bar a li le higher. With Canadian farmers clearly on board, a recycling rate of 80% of pes cide containers that go into the marketplace by the end of this year. The success of CleanFARMS is thanks to the commitments of farmers, manufactures, dealers and distributers. Stakeholders will be working hard this growing season, staging collec on centers and transpor ng rinsed and returned containers to recycling facili es. Thanks to your commitment, we are all doing out part to con nue to protect out farms, our families, our health, and the environment.
