Supplies used this sessionPlease note, below are the supplies I used, but you can substitute the supplies if and where needed if you don't have what I've used.
1 Sheet of hotpressed watercolour paper (140lbs) (I used 16 x 12” but you can use 12 x 9” if you prefer)
Graphite pencil (I like the graphgear 1000 by pentel 2b in lead, 0.9 width, but any graphite pencil will do).
Graphite Paper if you want to trace Watercolour paints (in one colour + black) Posca pens black and white (or other waterproof black/ white pens) Reference photo for tracing or referencing.

Colour Scheme today: monochromatic
Work only in shades of 1 colour. You can add black & white to create darker and lighter versions of the colour.
Simple steps to creating a monchromatic realistic portrait:
1. Sketch or trace your portrait.2. Start adding light washes of watercolour paints first. 3. Deepen the shading by adding layers of paint as you go. 4. Add line work and details with posca pens.
