Sea-eagles vary in size, from theSanford's Fish-eagle averaging22.7 kg

The huge Steller's Sea-eagleweighing up to 9 kg.

At up to 6.9 kg, the White-tailedEagle is the largest eagle inEurope.

Bald Eagles can weigh up to 6.3kg, making them the largesteagle native to North America.

Also known as the White-bellied Fish-eagle orWhite-breasted Sea Eagle, is a largebird of prey .

It is closely related toother eagles, kites, hawks, harriers and Old World vultures

It is resident from India throughsoutheast Asia to Australia oncoasts and major waterways

The adult has white head,

breast, under-wing coverts andtail. The upper parts are greyand the black under-wing flightfeathers contrast with the whitecoverts. The tail is short andwedge-shaped

The White-bellied Sea-eagle hunts mainlyaquatic animals, such as fish, turtles andsea snakes

The Steller's Sea Eagle,is a large bird of prey .

It lives in coastal

northeastern Asia andmainly preys on fish.

It is, on average, theheaviest eagle in the

world, at about 4.9 to 9kilograms

George Wilhelm Steller.

Also known as Pallas'sSea-eagle or Band-Tailed Fish-eagle, is alarge, brownish sea-

It breeds in Central Asia,between the CaspianSea and the Yellow Sea,from Kazakhstan and

Mongolia to theHimalayas, Bangladeshand northern India.

The Sanfords Sea Eagle

The Sanford's Sea-eagle,sometimes listed as Sanford'sFish-eagle or Solomon Eagle, is asea-eagle endemic to the Solomon

Islands. The Sanford's Sea-eagle was

discovered by and named after DrLeonard C. Sanford, a trustee forthe American Museum of NaturalHistory.

It can reach a length between 70and 90 cm and a weight between1.5 and 2.7 kg .The wingspan isbetween 165 and 185 cm.

The diet consists of mainly oftideline carrion, fish, molluscs,crabs, tortoises, and sea snakes,and more rarely birds and fruit-batssnatched from the rain-forest

Its closest relative appears tobe the critically endangeredMadagascar Fish-eagle
