Picking the Right Pet. Gather information about a pet
you now have or one you’d like to have someday. You’ll
start your very own Pet Project Record Book.

Learn about proper care, grooming and feeding of your
pet. We’ll talk about your pet’s nutritional diet and
prepare a plan for caring for your pet when you can’t be
home to take care of your pet.

Pets can inspire your creativity! We’ll spend our time
creating art projects inspired by your pet. These
projects can be entered in the Forest County 4H Junior
Fair! We will also begin planning our Pet Show and
fundraiser for the Forest County Animal Shelter.

We will tour the Forest County animal shelter and Ivy’s
Downtown Dog Grooming to talk about careers
involving Pets.

Come one, Come All to the Forest County 4-H Pet Show!
The purpose of the Pet Show is for 4-H members to
show the audience how well they take care of their pets
Lions, tigers, and bears do not make good pets but
many other animals do. The 4-H pet project helps
you explore what kind of pet fits into your family’s
lifestyle and how to be an excellent caretaker of
your pet.
WHO: Forest County Youth entering grades 1st—
5th grade
WHEN: July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 30th & August 6th
WHERE: Crandon Public Library
COST: $5.00 per youth (payable at the 1st meeting)
Space is limited and registration is required.
Register online beginning May 21st at
www.forest.uwex.edu
Registration closes June 1st or when class meets
capacity.

Special Interest or topic. They are a great way to learn about
specific project areas and to get to know 4-H.
