B&B LOGISTICS Opens State-of-the-Art Logistics Consolidation Center in Bahrain Logistics Zone GRAND OPENING AND RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

B&B Logistics held the official grand opening and inauguration of its new facility in the Bahrain Logistics Zone in Hidd on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

The State-of-the-Art Logistics Consolidation Center covers an area of 26,000 sqm and features the latest technology and infrastructure features that are unique in Bahrain, including specialized flooring to facilitate heavyweight pallets, the latest very narrow aisle (VNA) racking systems that reach up to 12.5 metres, sophisticated material-handling equipment, and advanced chiller units. The facility will deal with both bonded and non-bonded goods.

The official opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting event attended by senior government officials and VIPs, including the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, His Excellency Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, as well as dignitaries, members of the B&B Logistics’ Board of Directors, shareholders, management, and various representatives of the local and international business communities.

Perhaps one of the most important facets of the facility is its prime location. Situated on the doorstep of the World-Class Khalifa Bin Salman Port, a ten-minute drive from the GCC’s newest Airport, and approximately 40km from the King Fahad Causeway. The company looks forward to working with local and international businesses as well as governmental authorities and other organisations to attract multinationals who will work with and use the services of B&B Logistics to the benefit of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.


Banz Trading & Contracting W.L.L has successfully handed over the racking, fire protection & detection systems at the newly constructed 7000sq. B&B Logistics facility at BLZ is the first facility in Bahrain to have dry sprinklers installed in the cold rooms as per the newly laid regulations of Bahrain Civil Defence.

BTC completed and handed over the project in twelve months by maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

For the consecutive 2nd year, BANZ GEODIS nominated as an official freight forwarder to move Closing ceremony firework show shipment for the prestigious Formula 1 Event. Shipment moved in charter vessel with all necessary permission with UAE police and Bahrain Ministry of Interior. With the opening of the new State of the Art B&B Logistics W.L.L. Facility within the Bahrain Logistics Zone in Hidd, the company purchased new Material Handling Equipment to help run operations at the new site. The facility is now home to 2 new units of STILL Forklifts as well as 2 units of STILL Pallet Trucks and 2 new units of BT Hand Pallet Jacks. The crowning jewel and pride of the facility however are the 2 new BT Vector VNA Machines, with full hydraulic functions and the ability to vertically store up to 12 meters operated by electronic controls and finally as with all equipment at B&B Logistic W.L.L. is totally green, energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Along with the new Material Handling Equipment, B&B Logistics W.L.L. has also purchased 2 new 2019 models of Volvo Trucks received in April, furnished with the best on the market in terms of temperature control: The Thermoking Freezer and Chiller units with insulated boxes and tail gates with 2-ton Zepro tail lift.

BANZ Trading & Contracting WLL held a seminar jointly with their partners Roofings Middle East FZE, Sharjah on “ONE STOP SOURCE FOR STEEL STRUCTURES AND PRE –ENEGINEERED BUILDING”, to showcase capabilities of Banz Trading & Contracting & Roofings Middle East FZE, Sharjah in above field.

The participants were Ministries representatives, Consultants, Contractors and clients. The welcome speech was given by Mr. Jason B. Smith (CEO, BANZ Group) followed by presentation on BTC capabilities.

The Main presentation was from Roofings Middle East, Mr. Srikanth (AGM) and Mr. Sattiyamourthy (Engineering Manager), who covered the Roofings plant capabilities, technical team capabilities in various type of steel structures and design, Mr. Sattiya covered different design and fabrication codes.

BTC also displayed several of its products range at venue for a first hand feel of products.

Seminar concluded with a thanks giving speech by Mr. Shafeeq Ahmed (GM, BANZ Trading & Contracting) Defining BTC capabilities as TURNKEY solution provider for projects.

A joint seminar was conducted by BANZ Trading and Contracting W.L.L and Eaton Corporation USA, on Fire Alarm, PAVA and High bay lighting on 16.04.2019 at Crown Plaza Hotel, Bahrain.

Eaton Corporation plc is a multinational power management company with 2018 sales of $21.6 Billion, founded in the United States with corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ireland,. Eaton has approximately 99,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries.

The invited audience were from various spheres of the industry.

The seminar started with a welcome speech by the Mr. Shafeeq Ahmed (GM, BTC) followed by a small presentation on BTC capabilities.

Thereafter there were three presentations by Eaton:-1. Fire Alarm System by Mr. Andy Souten, International Sales Manager, Fire Systems2. PAVA System by Mr. Mohd. Sufiyan, Regional Sales Manager, ME, PAVA, Life Safety Division 3. Highbay lighting presented by Mr. Abdulsattar Mulla, Sales Director, Eaton Lighting

Other than the Eaton Menvier Fire Alarm System, the seminar hall also had a display area for all the products supplied by BANZ Trading and Contracting.

A joint seminar was held by BANZ TRADING & CONTRACTING W.L.L (BTC) AND BRISTOL FIRE ENGINEERING, Dubai on fire fighting and fire detection products with special focus on UL listed pumps.

The audience present were from various sectors of the industry including but not limited to:-• Bahrain Civil Defence• Consultants, including MEEB, MSCEB, Middle East Architect, Elektra, etc.• Contractors, including Almoayyed, Al Janadriya, Yateem, Kartec, etc.• End users, including Faisal Sharaf, BAPCO, Bahrain Defence Force, etc.

The seminar started with a welcome speech by BANZ Group CEO. Mr. Jason B. Smith followed by a small presentation on BTC capabilities. Thereafter there were presentations from Bristol on their company profile, product range and a special session on the UL listed pumps. The presentations were jointly handled by Mr. Sami, General Manager, Bristol Fire Engineering and Mr. Ismail, Export Manager, Bristol Fire Engineering.

The seminar hall also had a display area where all products manufactured by Bristol Fire Engineering were displayed namely extinguishers, cabinets, fire hose reels, valves, fire rated doors etc.

BANZ GEDOISCERTIFICATION ON INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Ms. Sangeetha Ramhari and Mr. Praveen Stephen from BANZ Geodis successfully completed the with Distinction the DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS- INITIAL, Category 6 training as per Table 1.5A of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations from 17th March 2019 to 21st March 2019.

As per IATA requirement an organization must have minimum two Dangerous goods handling certified Staff

Mr. Yousif Al Mahroos from Banz Geodis Wilson successfully completed his certification on Integrated Management system ISO1901:2015,ISO14001 and 45001;2018 Internal Auditor training

Yousif also have an important role in ensuring business excellence (BE) standards of Geodis are upheld and maintained in Bahrain.
