1. What is Botox® ?

Botox® is the trade name of a drug based on aneurotoxin protein called botulinum toxin.It is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.In the UK the brands of botulinum toxin available areVistabel, Azzalure & Dysport. They all work in the same way,which is by blocking the local release of a neurotransmitter

thus preventing localised muscle contraction. Vistabel & Azzalure are currently the only productslicensed for treating frown lines, however they can all be used safely by an expert.

Choose the treatment area(s). Typically there are 3 areasthat are treated for appearance: i) The vertical line(s)forming between the eyebrows also known as the frownlines. ii) The horizontal lines forming above the eyebrowsalso known as the forehead expression lines or worrylines. iii) The small lines that form at the edges of the eyes
