Freedom fighter Late (Sri) Thakur Shivdan Singh formed the Jawahar
Vidyalaya Society in 1948 and established modern education system
in Iglas (Aligarh). The Society has a glorious history of more than 60
years. The JVS draws its inspiration, values and vision from noted
social worker Late Thakur Shivdan Singh. He was the founder of the
Inter College at Iglas which is now famous as Shivdan Singh Inter
College in the area. It is our ...experience dream that students will their classrooms
as invigorating, even inspiring environments - places they look
to and places they forward to going hate to leave.
It is our dream that they will come to know themselves as
masters of It is our various crafts... dream that ...
they will come to love the process of learning itself...
by making it their own.
Late (Sri) Rajendra Singh (Former Minister of Agriculture & Irrigation, Govt. of U.P. and Leader of
Opposition) further carried out and extended the educational system at Iglas. He had the vision to
develop the rural area of Iglas as an educational hub. He made concerted efforts to establish several
institutes at Iglas namely Ch. Charan Singh Shivdan Singh (P.G.) College, Sri Shivdan Singh Smriti College
and Smt. Saroj Singh Technical and Paramedical College, Aligarh. Education in the areas of Agriculture,
Arts, Science, Forestry, Food Science, Microbiology, Medical Lab Technology and Teachers Training is
being imparted in these institutes. Iglas became famous for good educational facilities in the country.
Students from Laddakh to Kanyakumari and West Bengal to Rajasthan came to Iglas for pursuing
education.
His wife Late (Smt.) Saroj Singh also contributed a lot in the development of educational institutes and

Inspiration
We are living in an era where technology is advancing
faster than we could have ever imagined. In order to keep
pace with the changing scenario, we need to acquire
professional education, which will help us in developing
our human resources according to global needs.
The choice of a college where you will pursue professional
education and which would provide you the place from
where you will embark on your first journey towards your
career is an important decision. For this you require to
take into account many factors, the most relevant ones
being infra-structural facilities, teaching-learning process,
academic ambience, development activities, industry-
institute relationships, etc.
Jawahar Vidyalaya Society Group currently consists of two
institutes- Aligarh College of Engineering and Technology
(ACET) and Aligarh College of Pharmacy (ACP) at Mathura
Road, Aligarh.
We at ACET, emphasize on imparting quality education in

Really speaking, education is a multidimensional process. It brings
drastic changes in social structures and reduction of inequality
and poverty which are the real curse for the society.
Aligarh being one of the less developed districts of the state
suffers from these ailments. There was a great need of the
educational development of this area in order to reduce these
maladies. The Jawahar Vidyalaya Society established here the
professional institutes with these aims.
The Jawahar Vidyalaya Society group of institutes offers you
congenial academic environment and several other opportunities
to shape the future of the budding professionals. We also aim at
developing moral and social values, cultural identity, self esteem
and good citizenship. The institutes also promote extra curricular,
recreational and other allied activities for the over all
development of the students.
I feel great pleasure in welcoming you to Jawahar Vidyalaya
Society group of institutes and hope that you find this a novel
experience of your life.

Engineering education in the last two
decades in the country has expanded at
a tremendous pace due to global
economic and trade liberalisation. This
has profoundly affected the quality of
education, as a result, the employers
often find it difficult to recruit new
engineering graduates with right
technical and communication skills.
We at ACET are fully aware of the
challenges and problems, and commit
ourselves to develop and nurture the
talents of our students so as to enable
them to become a successful techno-
professional in a highly competitive and

Pharmacy is an exciting and significant
medical profession for the 21st century.
It is responsible for the appropriate use
of medications, devices and services to
achieve optimal therapeutic outcome.
The job opportunities for a pharmacy
degree holder are continuously
increasing day by day mainly due to
health awareness and increased
pharmaceutical needs of a larger and
older population. Pharmacy is the art
and science of preparing and dispensing
medications and the provision of drug
related information to the public. It
involves the interpretation of prescription
orders; the compounding, labeling and
dispensing of drugs and devices; drug
product selection and drugs utilization
reviews; patient monitoring and
intervention; and the provision of
cognitive services related to use of
medications and devices.
Pharmacy is conceived basically as a
knowledge system that renders a health
service by concerning itself with
understanding drugs and their effects.
Pharmacy education offers knowledge
about many aspects of health and
disease and remedies which enable a
person to lead a healthy life. Pharmacy
graduates can be absorbed in
production, quality control, marketing,
research and development of
pharmaceutical industry and hospitals.
Some of them may opt to go for higher
education and teaching. The Aligarh
College of Pharmacy (ACP) was
established by Jawahar Vidyalaya Society
in the year 2006 with the main objective
of providing quality education in the
pharmaceutical sciences.
The college is fully committed towards
quality education both in theory and
practical. We ensure overall development
of the students in addition to their
regular academic curriculum, by inviting
experts from private and public sector
enterprises.
