Perseverance

Bravery

Ali Best known for: boxingand fighting and black rights. He persevered when he broke his

I CHOSE THIS PERSON BECAUSE he is so agile.

"float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!!"

muhammad ali /cassius clay was aware that many black children didn't have the same priviledges as white children.

it affected the rest of his life. He did not like how african americans were treated by some white people.

Segregation laws were in place. black people were kept out of restaurants, schools and someneighborhoods.

Muhammed ali started boxing when he was 12 years old. his first fight was against the heavyweight champion of the world - sonny liston. he won the heavyweight title from joe frazier.

I think it was brave for muhammad Ali to get up at 4'o clock in the morning and go to a boxing match. he was also brave because he faced so many people and he didn't know what was going to happen to him.

Page 5: alicd

what Ali wanted the most was a fight against the heavyweight champion of the world, sonny liston, but first he had to get liston's attention.

he painted a bus with words thatsaid..."We all love muhammad ali! liston willgo in 8''

ali also called him a " big ugly bear and a chump.

this made Liston furious and he agreed to thefight!!

i think that... ali could have used nicer words to get listons attention. but he got what he wanted!

when ali wanted to join the army the general called cassius clay, but ali would not answer to his birth/previous name "cassius clay."

i think ali had a strong mind because he was called by a slave name and his beliefs were against slavery. i also think it was brave of him to change his name.

ali and liston battled it out round after round. after the bell rang for round 7, ali and liston returned to their corners. liston sat down in the corner, spit out his mouth piece, and refused to fight.

i wonder if someone besides liston was behind the scene and paying him to lose. ali ran around the court yelling "i am the king! i am the king!" he went over to the fight organizers that predicted he was going to lose and said ""eat your words!'
