CHALLENGE: In looking to launch voice ViaSat required a partner that had the experience
and technology to operationalize and scale a new service combined with a clear
business case.
SOLUTION: ViaSat chose Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform to power its Exede® Voice service
launched in June 2013. Alianza’s turnkey VoIP solution provided ViaSat with a superior time
to market, voice quality, operational control and SaaS-based cost model for ViaSat’s new
voice service.
RESULTS: A new revenue-producing service and better positioning with a multi-play
bundle for subscribers.
SATELLITE ISP I APPLICATION: GREENFIELD LAUNCH
CHALLENGE: Clearwire, a leading wireless ISP in the U.S., required lower cost and
streamlined solution to deliver VoIP over WiMAX to its residential and business customers.
SOLUTION: The company selected Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform to simplify voice
management, eliminate CAPEX, reduce operational costs and integrate into its back-office
systems. Alianza helped Clearwire decommission its old VoIP network and rapidly transition its
existing subscriber base to the Cloud Voice Platform. Clearwire was acquired by Sprint in 2013.
RESULTS: Improved voice margins and freed up resources to fund other initiatives.

CHALLENGE: Vyve Broadband, a top 25 cable operator in the U.S., was seeking a next
generation VoIP solution to reduce costs and enable the launch of new residential and
business services.
SOLUTION: Previously Vyve used three different vendors with complex management stuck on
legacy signaling for voice. Alianza’s turnkey solution addressed requirements for reduce costs,
ease of implementation, improved operating efficiency and service agility.
RESULTS: Universal voice solution to power all services and across footprint with

CHALLENGE: TransworldNetwork, a provider of competitive voice and data communication
services, required a voice solution to deliver co-branded VoIP services in partnership with
rural electric cooperatives.
SOLUTION: TWN chose Alianza to add feature-rich voice services to its wireless
broadband services for residential customers. TWN staff leverages Alianza’s
comprehensive web-based portal to manage the entire voice offering.

CHALLENGE: LBiSat Satellite Communications, a global provider of satellite-based
telecommunications services, required a high-quality voice solution to deliver VoIP over
satellite broadband to remote areas of the U.S.

service to the U.S. Forest Service while fighting forest fires and to mining and oil-rig camps.
