Aquatic Center
A lighted skate park for beginner and experienced skateboarders. Socal Skateparks review: Since it's
opening, Alga Norte skatepark in Carlsbad, California has become a skaters favorite right off the bat!
With two bowls, one with regular coping and a love seat and the other with stairs, a death box and pool
coping, while also providing a perfect street course. The street section has an eight stair with a rail and
hubba's and three stairs with hubba's and a pier seven style manual pad. There is a very long flatbar, a
great a-frame ledge as well as a step up and quarterpipe hip that leads you right into the Alamo type
quarterpipe. Overall its a great skatepark and we here at Socal Skateparks highly recommend it!
SKATE PARK
“Wow! What a beautiful park. Alga Norte is a fairly new park to the scene. It opened in January
2014 so everything here is top of the line, with lush landscaping and new equipment. The play-
ground area is divided into two portions for younger and older kids with the swings in be-
tween. There are no wood chips here! Instead you will find sand and the recycled rubbery
walkway. The whole playground is wheelchair accessible, which is a rare find. There are plenty
of shaded picnic tables and benches all over the place. And the whole structure is covered
with sun sails.” - Susan S.
CONSUMER REVIEW
Whether you’ve got kids, a
dog, or enjoy sports, this is the
place in Carlsbad. The kids
will love the skate park, ball
fields, and what many view as
the nicest public pool in
Carlsbad. The dog park is a
big hit with it’s wide open lay-
out and training courses as
well.
