On this lovely sunny Winter’s day we gathered together from 12:00 and Rev. Maarten brought with some games to play. To play games together is a way of communication and having fun. Some of us were playing and some were just giving advice! The children were also enjoying themselves. Round about 13:00 we could fill our hungry tummies with delicious lasagne, salads and lunch buns, and no meal is complete without dessert. A baked pud- ding with ice cream or cheese cake was a tasty round-off. Something to drink was also available. Thanks to all who helped to prepare the food and washed up afterwards! Our other two Reverends, Gerrit and Paul, also joined us for a while. Within a few weeks Rev. Gerrit will lead a service and he was attending our service on Sunday. It was good to gather together and share something about ourselves on a social level. We are spiritually together in our services and then we have tea or coffee afterwards, but spending some extra time with each other is good for our Koinonia. I hope that you also enjoyed it! ~ Liesje Kuperus KOINONIA We would like you to share your joy and sadness in order to practice true KOINONIA - to be close- ly involved in each other’s lives; to love, care and support each other. If we think about the terminology used in our verse we could surmise that there is just no hope. Perhaps? "Perhaps it will rain" is no surety of a single drop! It is such an uncertain word. Wishy-washy faith is not worth the while. So how do we get from "perhaps" to secure faith and hope? How can we be anchored in a life so full of insecurities? What is the message of truth (Greek=aletheia) from Zephaniah to us? Can you solve this puzzle? ~ Rev Maarten ALETHEA MINISTRY NEWS 04 August 2013 Volume 1, Issue 16 Eph 4:15: “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Today’s service Songs of worship In the shortest of all Psalms in the Bible we find the heart of our God: Praise the Lord, all you nations! (Ps 117) And if this is the heart of our God it should be the aim of his church to call upon the nations to praise the Lord. The Lord elected Israel (today the Christians) to be a light to the nations (Isa 49:6). We should be the witnesses of His glory to the nations that they may come to glorify Him together with us. In our church services and other meetings we will find our own culture of singing and worship, because in the Alethea Ministry we already find that we are all kinds of people, from different nations. Thus we are still finding our- selves in what en how we shall praise our God in our meetings. Please be patient as we try to find the best songs and music. In Christine we found a musician who is very capable but she needs our positive sup- port. Any advice or comments should be brought to our attention, but please do it in writing or by email. You will understand that not all our choices are as sufficient as planned every week, but we are busy finding our way. Let us never stop singing and praising our God. This is what His heart or wish for us is... (Ps 117)... so let us raise our voices and hearts in song! ~ Rev Maarten

Songs of worship

In the shortest of all Psalms in the Bible we find the heart of our God: Praise the Lord, all you nations! (Ps 117)

And if this is the heart of our God it should be the aim of his church to call upon the nations to praise the Lord.
