Reaching Out
Members of Aldersgate participated in the 4th of July Pa-
rade. Decorating the float, walking and handing out candy.
Thank you! Thank you for the many ways you have already welcomed me (and my fiancée Naomi Sea Young Wittstruck) into the community of Aldersgate United Methodist Church! We look forward to getting to know all of you and getting to know the ministries here at Aldersgate. If you haven’t dropped by the office, stopped me in the hallways, or intro-duced yourself following worship I hope that you will soon. And - be patient with me as I learn new names and con-nect them with new faces. I look forward to our journey to-gether!
Peace –
Eric

Thank You June Mowers !! Our June church mowers were Kaj Sinclair, John Boorman, and Ron Smith. They did a great job! Please thank them for their hard work! Again, a big thank you to Ron Smith who did double work mowing while also maintaining the mowing equipment & keeping the gas can full.
The ASP Mission group had a very successful garaged sale, car wash, helped others with
moving, yard work, odd jobs and sold stock to raise money for their trip.
On July 6th 24 members headed to Magoffin County, KY to work making homes warmer, drier and

2019 INGATHERING The Ingathering Task Force has selected 2 Projects this year. The first is the UMCOR health kit. Aldersgate goal this year is 100 kits. The kits plus postage are $14. The second is Heifer International. Aldersgate goal this year is to purchase a heifer at $500 and a flock of chicks for $20.
Please mark your donation Ingathering/kits or Ingathering/heifer.
Luke Murano, an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 96, has taken on the project to build a lawn and garden garage for the church. While Luke has received some donations, most notably all the concrete needed from Liberty Concrete, he is still short on funds. Luke addressed the congregation this Sunday to ask for sup-port from church members. The new garage will give us dedicated space for our lawn and garden equipment. This will allow more space in the existing garage for Troop 96. Luke is seeking $3000 and donated labor from a licensed electrician. Please write "Eagle Scout Project" on any donations.
United Methodist Women will view the "40 Chances: Finding Hope in a Hungry World" photography exhibit at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates on Thursday, July 11, followed by lunch. The photos by Howard G. Buffett feature beautiful, insightful photography from around the globe in categories including agriculture, water, social con-flict, portraits and landscapes. The photos give a glimpse into the daily life of the world's poor, conditions that individuals around the world face while struggling to overcome hunger, poverty, or conflict and the importance of water. Meet at the church at 10 a.m. to carpool, or meet us at the World Food Prize headquarters, 101 Locust Street, Des Moines, at 10:30 a.m. After the tour we will reconvene for lunch at noon at Ruby Tuesday's, 4900 86th St., Urbandale. Questions? Nancy Stockdale, 515-991-5978.
