Best Of Blur

The cover is split into 4 quarters, each with a cartoon image of the band members. This is a very iconic album cover and may be easy to replicate for my album.

The album is very similar, and similar to Andy Warhol's prints. It is similar to the pop art of the 90’s, the era when Blur were big.

Best Of Bowie

This album is meant to represent parts of Bowie over the years. His face is cut into pieces, using various pictures, then each box is partly edited and moved to make the face.

This would be possible to make for my face, and would be recognised as this is one of the best selling albums of all time.

The Miracle - QueenThis album cover has been

voted one of the best ever, however it has also been voted one of the worst ever. The picture contains all for band members but their heads are all joined together. The faces are so well done you cannot see where one face starts and the other ends.

This cover would not be possible to make, as the editing is very complex, and it is only me, so wouldn’t really work with one face.

The Beatles (White Album) – The Beatles

This album is very famous for its simplicity. It is called The Beatles, however is more commonly know as the white album because all it has is the title on a white background. The writing was originally embossed slightly and each contained a unique serial number, so each album was slightly different. It was designed by pop artist Richard Hamilton, so it contrasted with previous album Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club.

This album would be very easy to spoof however it is so simple it would give me hardly any marks.

21 - Adele

Adele’s cover is very simple as the main focus is on the music. The cover has a black and white picture of Adele looking down, as if she is sad and in deep thought. This reflects the tone of the music which is mostly about a painful break up.

The cover is similar to her other album 19.

This would be possible to copy, however it does not fit with my genre of music, or the feel of my album. It has also been famously spoofed before by James Corden.

Inside the album

NOW 47 + Best of Westlife

The previous 2 pictures were of the inside of the album covers of Now 47 and Best of Westlife. Both show a page dedicated to the songs on the album, who wrote them, who produced them, engineered them etc.

As my album will have many songs from different artists I believe it would be a nice touch to put this in. It is often used on compilation albums, or albums which has songs written by different people.

Call Me Irresistible + Best of Westlife

Both have thank you pages in their albums. They thank producers, managers, people who have influenced them in their career etc.

I think this is a nice touch as it shows they are thinking about others, they also thank their fans, which gives the album the personal touch.

I will put a thank you bit into my album because it fits in with the genre, plus it gives the album a more realistic feel.
