Madrid 28004 Ph: +34 91 701 06 95 [email protected] On an elongated site measuring 40 x 8.5 m with a maximum height of 7 floors, the offices were built as a single volume. A straight rectangular parallelepiped was built entirely in stone. The thick walls contain closets and storage. The windows are double. Inside, glazed. Outside, the project’s most unique aspect, are shutters made of stone to regulate the light that enters the rooms. When all of the shutters are closed, the parallelepiped appears as a solid stone box. The project reaches the extreme of making the roof terrace in stone as well, creating an interesting belvedere over the city and the sea. In this way, the idea of a stone box is materialized. Sobre un solar alargado de 40x8,5 m, que permite una altura máxima de 7 plantas, se edifica todo él como un volumen completo. Se decide construir un paralelepípedo recto rectangular todo él en piedra. Los gruesos muros alojan armarios contenedores. Las ventanas son dobles. Al interior, acristaladas. Al exterior, como punto más singular, se hacen contraventanas en piedra y se regula la cantidad de luz que entra en las estancias. Cuando todas las contraventanas están cerradas, el paralelepípedo aparece como una sólida caja pétrea. Se llega al extremo de hacer también la azotea en piedra creando un interesante belvedere sobre la ciudad y el mar. Se materializa así la idea de la caja de piedra.
