DAILY DIARY - Swill Lake Project Manitouwadge

Dec.^P/89 Skidoo from Caramat Rd. 6 km up Swill Lake Road to contact zone.Lay out lines 530 N on Claim #1099712 length of 165 m Circle contact zone and presumed conductor by 20 m average 4 hours 2 persons

Jan.5/90 Open road with front end loader and dozer a length of .8km with l metre of snow on surface, proceed to contact area and remove overburden to mineral soil. An area of minimum 9.8 m to 22.5 m was exposed to bedrock with snowball garnets common throughtout the exposed area. The area wast shoveled and swept with a broom to examine the area by myself, 'John Lavoie; Prospector and CXren Cranney, Volunteer labourer. The direction to the conductor 535 N indicates the formation at a dip of 20 0 with sand being the major overburden. A very small vein in the garnets indicates a horneblende, minor pyrite and possible ?W.'M''i'*' type showing and is magnetic. The area is approximately 3.5m down from the top of the contact zone and will be drilled with the plugger on a bench to a depth of 4' drill and blast. Samples to N.D. fc M. Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Jan.7/90 Backhoe contact zone with 20 0 dip to the North ; removed mineral soil from the balance of the contact zone. Trenching to 12-14' clay exposed at this level and water table reached in sand. Trench to 21 m, large bolder encountered and brought to surface. No mineralization in boulder, but contact zone cuts off and extends straight down. Evident that sand must extend some distance in the direction of trenching. Exposed 21ra weathered snowball garnets (Picture # ) Apitite seems to be in veins (Picture # ) at the base of the garnet zone yellowlustre flakes samples were removed for analysis; N. . s M.
