Ladies Prayer GroupThe Ladies Prayer Group is not meeting in the month of July. We’ll resume in August. POC: Rita Baird.

What is health & wellness?Health is the absence of illness, injury or disease. Wellness is much more than the absence of illness; it is health-promoting behaviors to achieve your full potential. In other words, wellness is the pursuit of your best possible health and well-being. It is a conscious choice, self-directed and self-motivating.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

SHEPHERD’S CORNER

SHEPHERD’S CORNERLynn Cowell wrote, “Sometimes God br ings t imes of transit ion to create transformation.” Over the years Alameda has endured many t rans it ions . Each event changed the dynamics of the group. Comfort and empathy had to be shared. New leaders had to emerge. Relationships had to be kindled. Through all of these, God has worked to transform our congregation into a more serving and sharing body. Each indiv idual being t ransformed by the challenges has “worked together to make the whole body grow and be strong with love.” (Eph. 4:16) “So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we wil l harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all.” (Gal. 6:9, MSG)Keith Lough

Weekly ActivitiesJoin us at the ORC (1001 Elm Ave) for Life Groups tonight (7 pm), Monday Lunch (12:30 pm) and Wednesday Worship (8:30 pm).

URGENT NEED! SOW Clothing ClosetThe Streams of Water Ministry is in need of Spring & Summer clothing and Summer shoes. Please do not donate Winter clothing at this time. (However, we accept donations of Winter coats and bedding all year.)

Meal Servers NeededWe are looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve funeral meals to our Alameda families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Tracy Miller (405-496-1906).

CR Kids & Youth Leaders Needed! The Celebrate Recovery Ministry needs volunteers on Friday nights (6:30-9:30 pm) to help with The Landing and Celebration Place. The Landing is for students 12-17 years old who are struggling to live their lives in a healthy, God-honoring way. It breaks the cycles of dysfunction, giving our students the tools to face life in a healthy and effective way. Celebration Place (CP) is for kids, ages 2-11 years. Knowing that their kids are in good hands allows parents to attend group and focus on God and healing without worrying about finding a sitter each week. Sign up for one Friday per month or serve every Friday. For more information or to sign up, contact Danee’ Link ([email protected]).

A Helping HandThe purpose of “A Helping Hand” is to connect people who have a need with those who can fulfill that need. Check out the board in the cafe area if you have a need (you need a dryer, a bed, a lawn mowed, etc.) or if you have something to donate (a couch, baby clothes, or a service to offer—mow a lawn, change the oil in a car, etc.). Fill out the appropriate card and pin it to the board. POC: Randy Hendrix.
