Who I am! I am a sweet, intelligent, energetic 7 year old! I live in Plaquemine, LA with my parents, Jason & Alarice and my two older brothers - Preston, 17 and Jalon, 11. We have three cats - Zero, Lightning and Rocky and a dog named Chloe. I attend church at Zion Field Evangelistic Ministries. On Sunday, after church, I like to come home, watch TV, draw or maybe both!

My Hobbies I love art! I like to draw and color or paint. Sometimes I sit in my room and draw all day. I also really like playing video games! A few of my favorite video games are Dance Central, Doritos Crash Course and Call of Duty Black Ops - yes, even a little girl likes to play army games - I’m pretty good, too! I also enjoy modeling, singing, dancing, swimming, riding my bike and going to the park with my family!

One of my favorite subjects is Science. I really enjoy learning how things work, especially the human body. I enjoy learning about fossils, too! I think it is pretty amazing that we can learn so much about our world by finding ancient rocks remains!

School Days I attend Iberville Math Science & Arts Academy West in Plaquemine, LA. I really enjoy school and I especially enjoy my school. The teachers are very helpful and they make sure that we learn as much as we can while having fun! My favorite subjects are Science, Spelling, Art and Social Studies.

What National American Miss means to me... NAM has given me the opportunity to realize that my dreams are as attainable as I make them! As long as I work hard, no matter how big my dreams are, I can reach them. Even though I am somewhat shy, I have learned that I can overcome that. It is ok to be nervous but as long as I can keep my smile and poise, which gives me confidence, I can succeed!

When I grow up... I would like to be a scientist. I would like to discover something new or something that would help the world. I would also like to be an artist to share the world, the way I see it, with people!

Hello, my name is Alaina Lakera Walker.

I recently competed for the title of Louisiana Princess in the National American Miss State Pageant and was selected as the 1st place finalist to compete in the national pageant in Anaheim, California this November! I would very much like to compete in the national pageant and share with other girls what I learned at my state pageant, but in order to do that, I need your sponsorship to help me raise money for my fees and expenses. I am asking that you consider sponsoring me.

I am selling advertising spots for the National American Miss Program Book as a way to earn credit toward my pageant fees. Hundreds of girls will be competing in the National Pageant in November, and thousands of people WILL SEE YOUR advertisement.

National American Miss teaches girls ages 4-20 life skills like resume and thank you letter writing, interview preparation, community service, public speaking and how to present themselves to an audience. At the Louisiana state pageant, I learned about time management, how to walk with grace and poise in a formal outfit, and to be kind and keep a positive attitude all the time, even when I am tired. I won trophies for public speaking, modeling, outstanding program participation and having a great spirit and out of 39 girls, I made it to the top 10 and thus winning 1st place Queen and the opportunity to compete for the National All American Miss Princess Queen title! I made new friends and I had a lot of fun. I have learned so much already but I am looking forward to gaining more experience and making even more new friends at the national pageant!

My goal is to sell enough ads that I can earn my own way to the National American Miss Pageant. For every page of ads I sell, I earn credit toward my entry fees, hotel room, meals, and even tickets to Disney Land! I am really hoping that you will help me accomplish my goal by purchasing an ad spot.

Each year, the pageant awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young ladies nationwide.
