AISAT celebrated Arts Day ‘Chrysalis 18’ on 16th February 2018 at multiple venues in college campus. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr.Unni Mukundan and the crew of ‘IRA’ movie. Charming personality Mr.Mukundan enthralled the audience with his wits and showmanship. He interacted with AISA- TIAN’s and even contested in the push up challenge along with students and was a sport enough to sing a song on request of the audience. The lighting up of lamp ceremony was headed by the chief guest, followed by Rev.Fr.Denny Mathew Peringatt, Manager, and Rev.Fr.Joseph Rajan Kizhavana,Associate Manager. Token of our love was presented to the chief guest and his team by Prof.Dr.Philp Kurian, Principal, AISAT. After the formal inauguration, following on stage events like Bha- ratnatyam, Mohiniyattam , Nostalgia, Funny feet, Crowd puller, Pair dance, Split screen, Solo dance, Light music, Group song, Sing to the Karoke, Mime, Unplugged, ABC(Fashion Show), Mimicry, Mon- oact, Extempore and Aisat got talent were performed by different teams. AISAT DAY Celebration

‘Chrysalis’, Arts Day is an annual event held to celebrate the extra-

curricular activities, practice and festivity of the arts and cultural events of our broad liberal curriculum. AISAT celebrated Arts Day ‘Chrysalis 18’ on 16th February 2018 at multiple venues in college campus. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr.Unni Mukundan and the crew of ‘IRA’ movie. Albertian Institute of Science and Technology (A ISAT) organ ized “Tharangam-18” an inter-co l leg ia te Techno -Cultural Management fest on 2nd February 2018 at college campus. “Tharangam-18, the two-

day technical fest, features a variety of technical contests, designed to test technical knowledge and aptitude to the hilt. The Techno-Cultural Management fest was inaugurated by Ms. Anu Sithara, Malayalam film actress in the esteemed presence of Rev.Fr.Denny Mathew Peringatt,Manager, Rev.Fr.Jospeh Rajan Kizhavana,Associate Manager and Prof.Dr.Philip Kurian,Principal.

The technical festival aims at providing an excellent platform for students of different academic institutions to exchange technical ideas and learn various innovative concepts. Such participation will enhance their knowledge, sharpen their tech-nical skills and groom co-curricular activities. The events of the festival include Tech expo, Battle of Bands, Auto show, gaming,group dance, fashion show, basketball, football, pro-show etc.

ACEA Day Celebrations

The second annual alumni meet of AISAT Alumni Association (AAA)was held on 26th January 2018 at 04.00 p.m. at college campus. Around 130 alumni and 90 staffs were present for the program. The meet started with a silent prayer followed by the welcome address by Dr.Philip Kurian, Principal. During his speech, he said that the alumni are the brand ambassador of AISAT. He also commented about the activities conducted under AISAT alumni association during last year. The office bearers for the next year were selected by the current vice presidents Mr. Eby Benny and Ms. Shilpa A B. Fr. Denny Mathew Peringatt, Manager wished the new office bearers all success and asked them to promote the AAA activities. This was followed by the sharing of experiences by alumni members. Rev.Fr. Denny Mathew Peringatt also highlighted the importance of such gathering and to promote an alumini culture among fellow students. He encouraged the elected representatives to be a part of all the future programmes of alumni and to be associated with the college.The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Vivek M R, AAA Staff coordinator.

The activities of AISAT Civil Engineering Association (ACEA) for the academic year 2018-19 were inaugurated on 16th

March 2018. The chief guest Sri. Raman Bhattathiripad, Exec-utive Director , Vastu Vidhya Pratishtanam inaugurated ACEA activities for the academic year 2018-19. The inaugural func-tion was preceded by a technical talk delivered by Sri. Raman Bhattathiripad . He gave a deliberate presentation about the traditional buildings in Kerala and principles of Vastu. During the event the fifth edition of ‘Srishti’, the annual newsletter was released by the chief guest, Sri.Raman Bhattatiripad. In connection with ACEA Day Celebrations, a Deminar on NDT was conducted and it was inaugurated by Rev.Fr.Denny Mathew Peringatt, Manager, AISAT. Students got an oppor-tunity to get more knowledge about Non Destructive Testing. Prof. Dr. Philip Kurian , Principal , AISAT presented Academ-ic Excellence Award for the best performers in B Tech semes-ter examinations

AISAT Toastmasters club celebrated the centurion meeting on 22 nd February 2018. Rev. Fr. Joseph Rajan Kizhavana, Assoc. Manager, AISAT graced the occasion. In his address he congratulated the members for their contribution towards the activities of the club. The joyous celebrations continued with a cake cutting ceremony. Members of the club TM Deepak David, TM Sangeeth and TM Maxwell performed a musical number. This was followed by a creative meeting. The President concluded the meeting with his closing re-

marks.

IEEE orientation Program

IEEE orientation was conducted on 23rd January 2018 at 10:30 am in the seminar hall. This session was conducted by Mr.Akash P Nambiar, student representative and Ms.Juliana Biju, WIE coordinator of Kochi hub. It was an introductory program on various opportunities provided by IEEE. IEEE is the world’s largest association of technical profes-sionals with more than 420,000 members in over 160 coun-tries around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineer-ing, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines. It was an interactive session in which various fields like tech-nical, managerial and volunteering were explored. Several opportunities like paper presentation, workshops, funding of projects etc were discussed by Akash P Nambiar. Juliana Biju talked about IEEE WIE. IEEE WIE is a profes-sional organization which is dedicated for promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world

to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering .

AVANZA MasterQuiz 2K18 AISAT organized an all Kerala Quiz Competition, ‘Avanza Master Quiz’ 18 for high school and higher secondary school students of Kerala at the college campus, Kalamassery on 3rd February 2018. 25 teams from all over Kerala registered for the programme. The quiz was conducted in three sessions, amongst which 1st and 2nd round of elimination were conducted in the morning session and finale in the afternoon session. 1st round of elimi-nation was a written test consisting of 60 questions based on Science, Mathematics and Technology. 12 teams were shortlisted for the 2nd round. At the end of the second round 6 best teams were selected for the grand finale

Training on Quantitative Aptitude by Pragmatix was conducted for S6 placement eligible students on 22 January 2018 during regular placement session.

Training on soft skills was conducted by ‘The Leader, Hyderabad’ for S6 eligible students on 17th & 18th February 2018 (Saturday & Sunday) from 9 am to 4: 30 pm.

FACE Academy, Bangalore imparted intensive Apti-tude training for 2019 Batch on 17th & 18th March 2018 (Saturday & Sunday) from 9 am to 4: 30 pm.

Events at a glance

CADD Centre Aluva, conducted a one day workshop on ‘Revit Architecture’ for sixth semester CE students on 8th January 2018.

“BUILDER BRAINS”- An inter collegiate quiz competition on civil engineering was conducted as a part of ACEA celebra-tions. There was excellent participation of students from various colleges across the state and six teams were select-ed from prelims for the grand finale. The first prize was bagged by the team consisting of Ms.Aswathy E.B and Ms. Chinnu Treasa from Rajagiri School of Engineering & Tech-nology, Kakkanad.

One day workshop on Concrete Mix design conducted by ICI Kochi and Department of Civil Engineering CUSAT was at-tended by final semester students on 20th January 2018.

Asst.Prof Liji Anna Mathew delivered a session on ‘Introduction to Latex’ on March 2018 for the faculty members of Civil Engineering Department .

Japanese delegation along with ASA members visited AI-SAT campus on 2nd February 2018 to set up additional train-ing facilities as part of Japanese Government`s Project of Human Resources/ Skill Development in the manufacturing sector in India.

Awareness program on a design software (digital information models and BIM based solutions) was conducted by TEKLA services on 5th February2018 for S8 ME at 3.45 pm.

A career development program was organized for S8 ME students by TICMAT Services on 21st February2018 at 3.45 PM.

A seminar on ‘opportunities in PSUs & regarding MEP cours-es’ was conducted for S4 and S6 ME students along with other branches in the seminar hall . This was done in associ-ation with CLAS Academy on 28th February2018.

A treasure hunt was conducted in AISAT campus as part of National Science Day on 2nd March 2018. Students of Me-chanical Engineering Department were actively participated in the same.

A career development program was organized for S8 ME students by CADD CAMPUS on 7th March at 3.45 PM.

An awareness program was organized for S8 ME students by TRITECH MEP Training Solutions on 8th March at 3.45 PM

A talk coordinated by ECE Department for the students of ECE,EEE & ME on “Career Guidance on opportunities in Merchant Navy” by Mr. Zismas George, Electro technical Officer in Merchant Navy was conducted on 17th January 2018.

Asso.Prof. Paul Ansel V, HoD, ECE was the guest for IEEE student branch inauguration at Muthoot Institute of Technolo-gy & Science Varikoli on 12th February 2018 and was the resource person at IEEE students branch at SSET Karukutty on 16th February 2018. He was the resource person in IEEE students activity board Annual Meet conducted at AISAT on 18th February 2018. He also organized IEEE Face to Face Meet at AISAT on 25th February 2018
