How we teach the rules and proceduresPrevention Model
• Fight Free Schools- encourage problem solving by utilizing conflict resolution, and by significantly reducing bullying and fighting.
• MCS Family Life Education and Health & Wellness Curricula-taught in PE and classrooms by employing No Bullying, Too Good for Violence, and Too Good for Drugs techniques.
• Airways Middle School incorporates a comprehensive violence prevention program entitled G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) which is taught in the 7th grade science classes.
School-Wide Procedures
• Students must report to homeroom by 7:a.m.• Students must exit the building promptly at 2:15p.m.• Students will exchange classes under the strict
supervision of a team of teachers.• Students must use the restroom during the changing of
classes.• Students must eat during their scheduled lunch times.• Students should walk on the right side of the hallway and
adhere to Zone signs.
Classroom Procedures
• Students must adhere to rules posted in teachers’ classrooms.
• Students in the hallway during instructional time must have a hall pass.
• Students must enter the classroom with necessary supplies.
• Students should not leave the classroom the first nor the last fifteen minutes of the class period.

Monitoring Process
• School, classroom, and individual discipline data are analyzed each six weeks by the Student Behavior Committee. Needed adjustments are made to the school-wide behavior plan, coaching is provided for teachers, and the S-Team process is used to develop intervention plans for students with at-risk behaviors.

In-School Suspension Plan• ISS is one consequence in our system of
progressive levels of consequences.• Students complete individual assignments,
reflect on their ISS placement, and discuss, the practice, positive behavior choices.

In-School Suspension Plan
• Airways Middle School follows the guidelines of Memphis City Schools through the Division of Student Engagement for the ISS Program.
• Students are referred by the administration, and monitored by the ISS teacher and the school
administration.• Activities in room include class assignments from
teachers, character education building activities, real-world discussions, and anger management
activities.• Student support includes: ISS teacher,
teachers,volunteers, peer tutoring, and parents.
Secondary Intervention Evaluation
We will use the data from the Chancery SMS
system to determine if our interventions are
successful.
Tertiary Interventions
• The School Support team identifies students through teacher referrals and
discipline infractions.
• Our behavior intervention plan is called the
Progressive Discipline System (PDS)

Celebration
• Airways Jets Award celebrates the unique contributions of faculty, staff, and students toward the accomplishments of school goals.
• School-wide and teacher academic achievements are celebrated at the beginning of the year.
• Individual students, homerooms, entire grade-levels, and the entire school enjoy celebrations for achieving fight-free goals.
• Parties are given when bus riders and homerooms achieve school goals• An eighth grade year-end picnic, promotion program, and 8th grade week
will be used as rewards.• Individual classroom and team celebrations, pizza parties, and field trips
will also be utilized as means of celebration.
