OFF / on the modem and wait 2 min. then start.

Check your modem LED states

1. Red LED showing power: --- If light not display check your power plug and modem adaptor.

2. Yellow LED-showing Link: --- If light blink or not Glow Stable checks the RJ 11 (cable) modem to splitter please plug out / plug it.

3. Green LED showing data transfer: --- If this light not blinking please ON/OFF the modem.

4. Last Green LED showing computer to modem connectivity: -- If light not display check USB / LAN cable. (In XP you can enable the LAN/USB connection)

This error comes when Username or password correct.

2) Error 678/PPPoE Down:

This error comes when data packets not able to reach the airtel server. Power OFF the Modem/Router and PC and switch ON again.

Note: If you are getting three consecutive error 691/Authentication failures message, fourth time you will automatically get error 678/PPPoE down. Switch OFF the modem for 3 minutes and try again.

3) Error 769 or getting Destination host Unreachable while ping to 192.168.1.1:If your lan card is disabled, you will get this error. Enable your lan card and try again.

4) Ping test: To check internet connectivity

Ping the following two IP address to check connectivity.Go to Start Menu and click on Run and type command

5) To Check Speed:

To check your Broadband speed, please open the website http://speed.ncr.airtelbroadband.in

Click on “Speed Test” option and it will show you the correct speed.

Assigning IP Address in Lan Card:

1. Right click on “My Network places” and then click on “Properties”.

2. Right click on “Local Area connection” and click on “Properties”.

3. Double Click on “Internet Protocol TCP/IP”

Some Do’s and Don’t for your BroadBand Connection

Don’t interchange the splitter connections. Just check out connectivity of all the RJ11 Cable with Splitter as described below.

Three Ports in the Splitter and their connectivity with RJ11 cables:

1. Line: Main line coming from outside your premise, will connect to this port2. ADSL: RJ11 from this port will connect to the Modem/Router.3. Phone: Phone instrument will be connected with this port through RJ11 cable.

Common Windows and Modem Errors

Windows Dial-up Networking Errors

[602/633] Port in use. Port already open. Your modem is being used by another application.

[619/629] The port was disconnected by the remote machine [645] Dial-Up Networking could not complete the connection to the server. Check your

configuration and try the connection again. [650] The remote access server is not responding. [678/628/721] The server is not responding. The computer you are dialing is not

answering; try again later. There is no answer. PPP Modem Connect Failure [691/718/635] Invalid username or password. Access denied because username and/or

password is invalid on the domain. Remote Server could not authenticate the connection or Authentication Failed. Dial-up networking could not establish a connection; check your password and try again.

[692] Hardware failure in attached device. [720] Dial-Up Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocols you

specified in the Server Type settings. Check your network configuration in the Control Panel and try the connection again. No PPP Protocols configured.
