Its traffic is continually increasing and is now serving 850 commercial flights weekly transporting 13,049 pas- sengers daily. / Solenergy Systems Inc. designs and constructs the first solar-powered airport in the Philippines INSTALLATION DATA Size of installation 1.64 MWp Purpose, system type Roof mounted, self-consumption Module type and area Risen Energy 265W on 1.01 hectares Inverter 51 Fronius Symo 24.0-3-M; 14 Fronius Symo 15.0-3-M Commissioned August 2017 CO 2 saved per year 1,301,580 kg Annual yield 2,169,900 kWh Fronius International GmbH / Froniusplatz 1 / 4600 Wels / Österreich / [email protected] / www.fronius.com / More than 6,300 PV modules are installed at the roof of the airport. The solar grid-tied system is expected to generate 2,169,900 kWh of energy per year that will offset a considerable amount of the daytime load peaks for the 2 nd busiest airport in the Philippines. The 1.64 MWp PV-system is also calcu- lated to save 1,301,580 kg of CO 2 each year. / The system comprises 65 Fronius Symo 3-phase inverters, offering real- time online system monitoring and added safety functionality, such as arc and ground fault protection. The racking system was custom designed by Solenergy, with a cast in place ballast solution offering resistance to elevated wind speeds that are often experienced in the Visayas region. Solenergy also supplied a bespoke curtailment solution to enable the client to operate the PV system in parallel with their gensets, in case of brown out. EN v02 Nov 2017
