    Teaching takes place in a hangar at Newcastle Airport, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, workshops and classrooms, including a functional Boeing 737 aircraft.

    The combination of hands-on, practical training at a busy regional airport with use of the latestequipment and academic facilities gives you an outstanding training in aircraft engineering. TheBoeing 737 is fully functional and has all the systems navigation, communication, electrical andhydraulic you would expect on a modern aircraft. You will carry out standard repairs on the flyingcontrols, engine, power supply, air conditioning and landing gear.

    The workshops are kitted out with the very latest equipment, designed for the study of specificaspects of aircraft engineering. These include hydraulics, landing gear, pneumatics, structural repair,electrics and electronics workshops.

    The IT suite is equipped with modern CBT training equipment for the electrical and electronic practicaltraining. These computers allow you access to the internet for research. The Academy also has alibrary of technical publications and aircraft manuals to help you with revision and research.

    Newcastle College:Students will have access to all Newcastle College facilities. A range of accesscourses are also taught at Newcastle College.Based in the city centre, it's the largest college in the North East, with over 30,000 students. Studentsare taught at the College's Centre for Engineering, which is equipped with everything you need forpractical, relevant training. This includes:

    state-of-the-art design software and robotics equipment;

    programmable logic controller suite;

    laboratories for testing analogue and digital circuits;

    power systems laboratory;

    instrumentation and control laboratory;

    mechanical science laboratory; and

    engineering workshops for milling, turning and shaping metal.

    Campus-wide facilities include four libraries that hold over 125,000 books, periodicals, audio-visualmaterials, CD-ROMs, and PCs with internet access. The College also has a shop, cafs, a sports centrewith a variety of clubs and classes, and an art gallery.
