Compressed air condensate management

AIR-SAVER® - the next generation!For years the AIR-SAVER has helped end users to save valuable compressed air from escaping unnecessarily, reducing compressor running hours and thus extending its lifetime, saving energy and operating costs.

The AIR-SAVER is typically installed on the air outlet of the air receiver. Alternatively it is applied in larger factories to close off certain parts of the compressed air system, where during certain parts of the day no compressed air is required.

A typical compressed air system has air loss 24 hours per day through pipe works connections and leaking float type drains etc. By installing an AIR-SAVER the end user will limit these types of air losses to the operating hours only. At the end of the (department) working day the AIR-SAVER will close off the air flow and prevents further loss of valuable compressed air.

The AIR-SAVER is available in a 1” and 2” configuration.

Zero air loss drains in their new colourFollowing suit with the rest of the JORC product range, our zero air loss drains will be colour-coordinated in black and grey.

In addition, the black colour is an EP coating offering more protection against aggressive condensate.

The KAPTIV®-MD and MAGY®-UL were introduced in the new colour combination during the Hannover exhibition last April.

The KAPTIV-CS range of electronic zero air loss drains and the NUFORS-DC are now following suit.

TEC-44 - impossible to block!

SEPREMIUM® high performance elements

The TEC-44 is a powerful timer controlled motorised ball valve designed to remove condensate from compressed air systems that are heavily contaminated with rust and scale.

The TEC-44 operates in a pressure range of 0 to 40 bar. This condensate drain cannot be blocked and is applied where all else fails. Draining applications with a high level of contamination (rust, scale etc.) require the TEC-44.

The TEC-44 is impossible to block due to its powerful ball valve rotation and large orifice.

In addition, the TEC-44 offers a remote switching feature giving your customer more control with regard to operating the drain.

The clever lubricant adsorbing elements of the SEPREMIUM are designed to perform in the widest range of applications.

The chosen element fibres have been specially selected and treated to maximise its supreme adsorbing performance.

We have been able to design the SEPREMIUM elements in to a multi-stage configuration, offering an increased filtration efficiency and easy servicing procedures.Ergonomic laws and legislation have been taken into account during the R&D of the elements.

The JORC standard elements cover over 90% of compressor lubricants and applications. For lubricants containing polyglycol we offer the PG element version and for the remaining “special attention applications” we offer our KA element version.

Tricks of the TradeQuestion:Will any oil/water separator do?

Answer: No, back in the 1980’s the compressor lubricant was generally morebuoyant versus water and, as such, fl oated to the water surface muchquicker than most current lubricants do. Oil/water separators that weredeveloped to work with this gravity type separation might have performedbetter in the days prior to the introduction of “commercial internet…”.These days, these old-style oil/water separators simply do not perform tocurrent environmental laws and regulations because the modern lubricantsmay form an emulsion in the condensate and have problems separating ongravity.

The old-style (gravity separation/weir type) separators were also developedback in the day when ergonomic laws were not considered, or did not exist.For instance, the weight of the saturated elements exceed current ergonomiclaws and regulations with regard to maximum personal lifting weights.Carrying out routine element replacement activities therefor carries apotential health risk to the servicing engineer.

Anno 2015 it is critical to understand that modern day lubrications requiremodern day oil/water separation technology solutions. JORC is regularly indirect contact with compressor lubrication manufacturers to understand andfollow the lubricant development based on the demands made by thecompressor manufacturers. The SEPREMIUM technology is based onthese current and evolving developments and adhere to ergonomic laws.
