Australian air compressor buyers have been caught unaware by an increasing numberof cheap, low quality products that are counterfeit copies of genuine Fushengreciprocating air compressor pumps and spare parts.

The copy products look similar and can have the same model numbers as genuineFusheng compressor pumps, for example model numbers “VA-65” or “TA-65”, butthat’s usually where the similarity ends. They do not conform to Fusheng’s exactingspecifications and are typically poorly constructed from inferior materials, which enablethe copy products to be cheaper. Their performance and reliability are likewise oftenbelow that of genuine Fusheng compressor pumps.

Consumers should note that the use of copy products may result in personal injuryand/or property damage. A recent example of this was the mechanical failure of acompressor pulley on a copy product that was caused by porosity in its iron casting.

Fusheng Industrial Co. Ltd is the owner of the triangular “FS” trade mark. Legal actionwill be taken against any party passing off copy products as being genuine Fushengcompressor pumps or spare parts.

INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES

Danger: Before performing any maintenance or repair work on an installed compressorpump, switch off the unit, tag and lock out the power supply or disconnect the engine sparkplug, and carefully release all air pressure from the receiver tank, air hoses and/or airpiping.

Caution: Bare compressor pumps are shipped without oil for safe transport. Fill with therecommended quantity and quality of lubricating oil before use.

Install the compressor pump in a clean, dry and well ventilated location with ambienttemperature below 40°C.

Affix the compressor pump with all four bolts to a rigid mounting plate in a horizontalposition.

Always use a totally enclosed guard to cover all moving parts of the V-belt drive system.

Check that the direction of compressor pump rotation is anti-clockwise when viewed fromthe pulley side.

Do not exceed the compressor pump’s speed and output pressure recommendations.

Match the compressor pump’s output to the application. It should ideally operate in arepeating run-stop or pump-unload cycle, with total compressor “pumping” time notexceeding 70% or 42 minutes in every hour on average.

Check oil level daily and add oil only when the compressor pump is not operating.Maintain the oil level at the top of the red circle or at the “H” mark on the oil sight glassfitted to the crankcase.

Use premium quality engine oil with an API Service Classification of at least CG or SH, oralternatively use specialized air compressor oil meeting DIN�51506 specification. Selectan oil of monograde or multigrade viscosity that is appropriate for the ambient temperaturein which the compressor pump will be operating. SAE 15W-40 multigrade engine oil is anideal choice suitable for use throughout Australia. Mineral based, semi-synthetic or fullysynthetic oils may be used, but different types of oils should not be mixed together.

Replace the lubricating oil and clean the air filter(s) every three months or 500 operatinghours, whichever occurs first. Replace the air filter element(s) every year or 2,000 hours.These service intervals should be reduced if the compressor pump is operating in dusty ordirty conditions.

Use only genuine Fusheng spare parts for maintenance and repair of the compressorpump to ensure its continued safe and reliable operation.
