role on how the normal public perceives policy

moves. She tried to draw the impact created by

various media houses which came up with digital

financial literacy campaigns which eased the stress

among people. "People are happy and did not resort

to riots, thinking that black marketeers in the society

are suffering due to demonetization."

This last discussion brought the enlightening

conference to a close. The conference thus brought

opportunities in engaging the customers.

your brand is a result of positive customer

experiences and it brings in great business value

from those customers. A fully engaged customer

is equal to 1.23 times an average customer and

can be helpful in referring more leads. B2B is a

time tested customer engagement strategy and it

progresses from partnership. He finally

concluded by mentioning qualitative growth in

engagement bonding results in improved

revenues and profits. Conflict resolution builds

trust and enhances engagement with customers

and stakeholders. Continuous efforts or inventing

new ways of capturing, managing and analyzing

of customer data to improve the ROI on

marketing activities is leveraged using social

media which simply cannot be ignored. The

businesses are using newsletter, customer

roundtable (forums), online connects – blogs,

surveys and ratings, Facebook, Twitter and

Instagram, and events that will bring customer

and organization together. New technology to

extract real feeling for your brand – NLP (Natural

Language Processing), AI (Artificial Intelligence),

Text Analytics and Predictive Analysis are also

enablers for customer engagement and define

new frontiers. Brand engagement brings in brand

loyalty, and stickiness. Process automation is also

looked by process driven business which want

quality delivered to their stakeholder through

meaningful engagements.

Mr H Krishna Karanth, G M, PMC Bank Ltd stated

that the milestone achieved by his bank was that it

stood among top 10 co-operative banks of the

country. This was due to a consistent follow-up of a

focused strategy, “committed to excellence in

serving the customers, and augmenting the

stakeholders value through concern, care and

competence” for a decade. He shared his

experience that the customer engagement broadens

the performance of certain specific bank branches

especially in rural areas. This enhances the efforts of

customer engagement, which gave a detailed profile

understanding of the customer segment which

minimized the non- performing accounts for the

said branches. He said more personal empathetic

approach and engagement through soft skills and

knowledge of local language is very essential for

rural customer connect. Gender specific customer

connect, gender specific employee skills in enabling

the connect.

Mr Salil Bawa, Sr V P/Head - Stakeholder

Relations, Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd

said that the growth of India is happening at night.

From only government controlled banking and

financial sectors in the 1990s, the present

generation is witnessing age of disruptions. He was

optimistic in seeing the financial opportunity and

India's growth trajectory in the next 25 years. The

India's share in the financial market to come is so

bright and this growth in the wealth is going to open

a great opportunity. The future relations in financial

sector with the customer are seen s an opportunity

for the relationship manager who will have to look

for customer life time engagement for various

banking and investment needs.

Mr Vikas Bajaj, Associate Director of Commercial

Markets, IBM: IBM's monopolistic situation is

shattered from the early days of main frame

providers with the advancement of various media in

engaging and partnering with enterprises. The

customer engagement takes the route of investment

capacity, enablement, execution and matrices now.

The biggest challenge in customer engagement is to

minimize mismatch between seller and customer.

Customer data and algorithms are evolving to

predict models of engagement. The customer

Gopalakrishna, IAS (Retd), observed that the moral

values in life hold great importance from the point of

personal, social and spiritual development. Values,

morals and ethics are inextricably tied together.

Values are what we learn from youth; the 'stuff' we

acquired from our parents and immediate

surroundings.

Sri M Gopalakrishna, IAS (Retd) threw light on

Bhagvath Geeta which emphasises that the values

are the motive power behind purposeful action and

moral values are meant for making the quest to find

the higher self easier. The speaker opined that

unfortunately, many amongst us may find it difficult

to follow values such as truthfulness, honesty,

forgiveness in our lives because we have not

perceived the subtle gains that come to us by

following these values. Or, may be, we are careless

to realize the importance of values in life. Ethics, on

the other hand, are how we actually do behave in the

face of difficult situations that test our moral fiber.

Ethics are the code or principles on which one's
