Why did they stop building pyramids?

Each pyramid had a city of workers to keep a watchful eye on it. Grave robbers still stole and destroyed royal tombs! Punishment for robbery was death, but tombs were still being robbed. Since the royal tombs were easy to find, pharaohs started to be buried in hidden locations.
