About India:

The Indian phenomenon is something of a myriad

composition of art, literature, architecture, spirituality,

food blended in a mix of diversity and tradition and

refined through the 4500 odd years since civilization is

known to have begun on this subcontinent. The result is a

land where diversity is second nature. The rich heritage is

lived in Indian lives even today where the Indian

constitution recognizes 22 languages and various

dialects, from the Taj Mahal to the Meenakshi Temple the

legacies of hundreds of rulers and dynasties stand

testament to the immortal history of this land. You can

delve into prehistoric caves at Bhimbetka, savour the

flavours of Old Delhi at the Paranthe Wali Gali, sit by

golden beaches in Goa, stand witness the majesty of the

Royal Bengal Tiger at Corbett, your India experience has

endless possibilities. Maybe its time you Discover India!

Culture:

India is the Destination of the Millennium, a Land of

All Seasons where beauty beckons, culture echoes,

diversity delights and tradition talks. Those who

reach India are greeted with a gracious Namasthe,

Namaskaaram, Vanakkam or SatSriAkal denoting

warmth, hospitality and respect – a tradition in

tune with the country’s age-old motto “Athithi

Devo Bhava” where the guest is treated as God. The

official currency of India is INR, denoted by (₹). One

USD is equivalent ₹59 approximately (subject to

change as per market forces). It is pronounced as

Rupee in Hindi. Banknotes are available in nominal

values of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rupees.

India has one of the largest Railway networks in

the entire world comprising of 115,000 km of track

over a route of 65,000 km and 7500 stations.

We want to address a common standard of living by

providing education to raise awareness of legal, social and

ethical principles among the underprivileged communities.

The areas covered in this issue are:

1. Children Rights: To support the establishment and

enforcement of protection for children, including their

rights to association with human identity, the basic needs

for food, education, health care and protection of

children’s civil rights, and freedom.

2. Women Rights: To support increase social positioning

and respect of women, including their rights to be treated

fairly, as well as their personal capacity to live

independently.
