Hey AIESEC!! Here is Louise, VP iGCDP of AIESEC AHU in Mainland of

China. When you open the first page of the booklet, I’m going to take you

start a journey with our project.

On behalf of the ICX GCDP Function in AIESEC AHU in Mainland of C

hina, I would love to show all of you our warmest welcome. Through this

booklet, you will see what will happen, what will change and what will

you experience. We all know that changing the world only by ourselves

is difficult, changing the world only use 6 weeks is also not easy. But if w

e keep trying to do something, keep paying our attention to the global iss

ues, someday something might be different.

Hey! Guy!

I am Doris, the Team Leader of ICX-GCDP of AIESEC AHU in

Mainland of China, also, I am the OCP (Organizing

Committee President) of the project Love Protection. I am so

glad that you are interested in this project and I can’t wait to

introduce it to you.

Nowadays, we all know that children are the future of this

world, but the lack of children's safety education really makes

us feel worried. So we think we are obliged to protect them.

That’s why we design this project.

I am strongly hope we can concentrate on this project with

passion and love and achieve the goal together, making an

increasing number of people realize the importance of

children safety and impacting the society effectively.

The Team Leader of ICX GCDP of AIESEC in MoC

Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province, is located

between Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, and

beside the Chaohu Lake. It is a mid-China city

nearest to the coastal cities in eastern China. The

summer in Hefei is hot. The highest temperature will

be about 38 ℃,the average temperature is between

30℃—38℃.

Due to Hefei is a city which has more than 2,000

years history, there are many places of interest for

you to visit. Now, let us introduce them for you.

Love Protection is a local project of AIESEC AHU in Mainland of

China. On the topic of the protection - protecting yourself and

teaching children how to protect themselves.

In this project, we are going to teach children by dramas and

courses that how to protect themselves, putting themselves away

from danger. These children come from different communities.

Although they have diverse family backgrounds, they have the

same opportunity to receive the safety protection and English

teaching education. It is their right to know the self-defence

method and as a human being.

Otherwise, we all hope that trainees will gain lots of special

experience as well as impressive memory, so we will hold Global

Village. In Global Village, you may enjoy communicating with

people around the world, sharing your culture and knowing more

things about China.

The project will last for 6 weeks, at the same time, we may travel

around Anhui province if our time is available.

WEEK 1 [06.24-07.03] This week is orientation week. We ll hold welcome party(after most of our trainees arrive

Hefei, China, we still have time before the activities start, we surely will hold the party) and

trainees need to prepare for dramas and courses.

WEEK 2 [07.04-07.10] We will go to the first community to play dramas, teaching courses and organize some

games, activities with children.

WEEK 3 [07.11-07.17] We will go to the second community to play dramas, teaching courses and organize some

games, activities with children.

WEEK 4 [07.18-07.24] We will go to the third community to play dramas, teaching courses and organize some

games, activities with children.

WEEK 5 [07.25-07.31] This week, we will prepare for Global Village and Living Library, which will be held in this

week.

WEEK 6 [08.01-08.07] We ll have our last event Farewell party in this week. Just enjoy the good time

PS: Our workday is from every Wednesday to Sunday, 6 hours

per day, and we will rest on Monday and Tuesday.( it may be change

before the project and actually I will contact you all in time.)

[Write Dramas] Trainees need to write dramas on the topic of safety by

themselves. They need to incorporate the knowledge of traffic safety and

personal safety into their humorous and easy dramas.

[Play Dramas] All trainees will be the actor to play the drama they have

written by themselves, so that children can learn the point of safety issue

intuitively. Trainees need to show their acting skills to catch children's

attention.

[game for safe]We can divide the children into three groups, and EPs set up

some safety questions or security cases for children, children answer these

questions or finish the tasks to complete the bingo game. The winner will

have some prizes.

[Teaching Courses] All trainees will be the teacher for teaching courses after

dramas. Aim to let children have more communication with different culture

and learn more warning signs and daily dialogues about how to protect

themselves.

[“sign” for safe] trainees can design some slogans about safety with children,

and these slogans can be pasted in the school or community.

[Living Library] Trainees will take part in the "Living Library" to share the stories

or experiences they have about the safety issues or, intended for emphasizing

the importance of this topic to the public.

[Global Village] This part will be held by trainees. All the trainees will have their

own space to show the culture of their countries. They can use different way to

show, such as poster, traditional food, traditional music and dance, traditional

arts and crafts and so on. We aim to create a harmonious atmosphere to let the

visitors feel the world like a global village and promote the cultural

understanding.

[Buddy Program] In order to have a better communication with Chinese people,

all trainees will have a buddy to accompany with them to enjoy the whole

project. No matter what difficulties they face to, they can ask buddies for help at

any time.

[Explore China] Trainees will have 2 days' off after 5 days' working day. During

those days, OCs and buddies or homestays will take trainees travel around

some scenic spots around Hefei so that they can feel the Chinese culture

better.

[Free Trip] We will organize a two or three days free trip for all trainees to

Nanjing or some cities near Hefei, to enjoy the Huizhou culture and Chinese

culture.

1. [About Food]

During workdays, we will provide one meal for lunch. Your

homestay will prepare breakfast and dinner for you.

During rest day, maybe sometimes you need to pay it by

yourself.

2. [About Accommodation]

We will provide host family for you and it is free.

3. [About Transportation]

Transportation expenses have to be paid by yourself but it is

very cheap (about 1 USD per day).

We will pick you up at Hefei train station or Hefei airport.

4. Prepare a short-presentation and a presentation (usually

multimedia presentation) about your culture.

5. Learn some basic knowledges about China. Including food,

culture and so on.

6. Prepare a few materials for Global Village. Such as your

national flag, costumes postcards, movies, books, music coins,

and so on related to you country or your own experience.

7. Master some knowledges (warning signs, daily dialogues,

ect.)about children safety (traffic safety, personal safety, ect.) and

think some ideas about playing drama and the courses.

8. Apply for a MasterCard. It will be convenient for you to use it in

bank during your volunteering time.

9. Bring suitable clothes. The temperature of Hefei in summer is

about 30℃ to 38℃.Please bring the most suitable clothes based

on your own physical condition.

10. International Student Card and Notebook/laptop is highly

suggested to carry.
