It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Aid & Response Summit Asia organised by the Aid & International Development Forum. This timely event will discuss lessons learned and combines three important themes over three days:

- Mobile for Development - Disaster & Community Resilience - Aid & Response Operations

The specific objectives of this summit are to showcase expertise, best practice approaches and innovations by different actors, to discuss guidelines and regional policy and to provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking amongst public, private and civil society stakeholders.

More than 60 recognised experts from over 15 countries will be on stage to show you innovative and achievable ways to increase disaster and community resilience in Southeast Asia and to improve the operational efficiency of humanitarian and development programmes in the region, particularly through the use of mobile devices.

We strongly encourage you to actively network and don’t be shy to ask questions – after the presentations, during the panel discussions or in the breaks. If you prefer to submit your questions anonymously, please send an email to me at [email protected] of follow via Twitter @SonjaAIDF.

We thank you for joining us and wish you a productive and informative summit.

Best wishes,

Sonja Ruetzel, Event Directorand the AIDF team
