Director of Jindal Saw Gulf and Super Cement Manufacturing on 20th September

2016, at 9:30 am in G34. He gave in an overview to the students about the ‘Recent

Techniques in Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC)’. It was attended by Chemical

Engineering 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students as well as the department Faculty. He

spoke about:

1. Precipitated Calcium Carbonate from Ca(OH)2 and the recovery of the

desired structure.

The Sister Chapters program helps prepare our students for the increasingly

global environment they will enter upon graduation. This program complements

AIChE global development initiatives by connecting AIChE Student Chapters from

different countries to form yearlong partnerships throughout the academic year.

The goal of the Sister Chapter Program is to match up Student Chapters from

different countries and allow them to network with Chemical Engineers in

different parts of the world. We also encourage chapters to discuss their

Student Chapter goals and give each other ideas on how to improve their

Student Chapters.

Goals:

Increase international awareness of, connection to, and involvement

with AIChE

Build an ongoing relationship between International and American

AIChE student chapters

Connect future chemical engineers from around the globe with AIChE

Provide insight into AIChE student chapters to other chemical

engineering academic programs and fields of interest around the

globe.

Brigham Young University, Utah is the American Sister Chapter of BITS Pilani,

Dubai for the session 2015-2016. The Officers’ Board is in constant

communication with them through mails and Skype Calls.

In the first meeting of the semester, BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus Student Chapter

has planned to collaborate with other Student Chapters in the region. The goal of

this initiative is to assist each other in establishing similar programs as well as

conduct/host/participate in various Events of either University. This is also

expected to rigger the participation of students in various of our upcoming events.

Student Leadership Committee will be undertaking this step of collaboration and

parallelly organizing an event for the BPDC Interuniversity Student Fest – Enginuity

Nov. ’16.
