SYNERGY RALLYSPORT IS BACK
After a three and half year break
from the sport Josh Doyle is looking
forward to getting back in the drivers
seat. The team returns to the very
same event it last competed in. The
Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally.
“It has been a long wait but we are
finally here” stated Josh
The tarmac rally sees a new chapter in the Synergy Rallysport team history. With a new car, new team mates and
support crew Synergy anticipate an exciting and eventful year. The team previously competed in a Mitsubishi EVO 3
but have now shifted to the upgraded Group N Mitsubishi EVO 7 brought in from New Zealand. The new vehicle pro-
viding a new challenge for its seasoned driver.
The Synergy team has also evolved with Kate Lehmann now calling notes for the team. Kate comes with previous
tarmac experience gained from co-driving with fiancé Tristan Catford. Kate has managed to hone her tarmac skills
into the notes. “We both felt really positive about the notes we have created for the event and look forward to call-
ing them at race pace.” Former co-driver Marcus Piristi has also lent his support and experience to help Josh and
Kate create their own pace noting system.
Tristan Catford Racing Team have partnered with Synergy Rallysport for the event and will play an integral role in
supporting the team. Robbie Catford has supplied a great set up in support for the event along with the Synergy
crew Liam Doyle, Joel Smith and Dan Quirk. The team eagerly awaits the event.
Although Josh is itching for some track time the team is taking a calculate approach into the rally. With new notes to
learn and a car/driver relationship still developing the teams goal is to get as much out of the event as possible with
finishing the event a high priority. “Its important that we finish so the information gained can be applied into future
events.”
The team would like to announce Autobarn Mile End and Penrite Oils as its first sponsor for the event. Kristian and
the team at Autobarn Mile End have many years of experience dealing with all types of vehicles. Providing expert
fittings and installation the team at Autobarn Mile End provide a great service and will get the job done. It is great to
have the experts onboard for 2012.
Also many thanks to the teams supporting partners:
‘Gary Ta Design’ providing a brand new look to the car and the team and Steve Knight Racetech with a great tune.
Synergy Rallysport would also like to thank Ethan Pickstock and Lisi Phillips who have played an important roll in
prepping the car in the off season and for SA Rally Reg the support was fantastic.
