Every year, Ahlia University hosts a Careers Expo for all Ahlia students and alumni. Our careers expo is an important way for the University to help our students begin successful careers.

We are delighted to report that 2015 saw 28 private companies, training institutes and government authorities exhibiting. Each organisation was invited to set up a stand and hundreds of students and alumni were able to speak with representatives of the organisations and discuss potential career and training opportunities.

Our 2015 Careers Expo was a highly successful event allowing our students and alumni an easy and informative opportunity to discuss their future. Our graduates are highly sought by organisations and private companies throughout Bahrain and the GCC enabling them to undertake positions with some of the top organisations within the GCC.

We strongly believe that our students should be given both academic and practical experience while studying at Ahlia, and every student has the opportunity to undertake an internship before they graduate.

This gives our students a chance to understand the working culture and ethics and to develop employment skills such as communications, working to deadlines, the impact of their role and understanding direction.

These skills contribute to life long success and make Ahlia graduates to be the best in Bahrain.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the companies, organisations and training institutes who contributed to making the 2015 Careers Expo such a great success and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2016.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) was established in 2002 promulgating the Telecommunications Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Board of Directors oversees the activities of TRA led by its Chairman, Dr Mohammed Al Amer. The General Director, Mr Mohammed Bubashait, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Authority. TRA carries out its duties independently and in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner.

Ever since its inception, TRA’s focused on liberalizing and developing the telecoms sector by promoting an effective and fair competition between established operators and new entrants while protecting the interest of consumers. The drive to pave for a more robust and dynamic telecoms industry continues with the change in market dynamics; this has fuelled an unstinting resolve to augment service levels and exceed expectations on all fronts. TRA as per the Third National Telecoms Plan is requested to address areas of disadvantage such as mobile service, ultra-fast broadband, international supply, digital security and internet eco-system. TRA also believes in creating value; positioning telecommunications as a pillar of social and commercial growth for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since 2002, more than 2,600 jobs were created – a 50% increase – and the industry has accounted to 4% of the GDP.

TRA’s culture is driven by business excellence and continuous learning; as it invests heavily in the training and development of its employees. An integral element of its internal frameworks is innovation – as TRA promotes innovation across all departments and levels.
