Students attending the November

workshop ranged in age from 10 to 20. The

session started by introducing themselves to

each other and talking about their favorite

writers. Students wrote short stories or poems

about themselves, their families, funny things

that happened to them, or things that they

hoped might happen to them someday.

Halloween Party

On October 30th we had an AHAS

Halloween Party. Students went on a treasure

hunt, learned about mystery science, created

masks, and designed costumes from

newspaper.

We took 20 students to the WSUV

campus to spend a day relaxing and building

relationships with peers and mentors. The

group watched Red Hot Ballroom, a

documentary about instituting ballroom classes

into schools; played board games; and had a

dance competition.
