What is Agritourism?

Agritourism is basically where agriculture and tourism intersect, as farms and ranches invite the public onto their property to experience the out of doors,

the leisure pace, and the healthy and nutritious produce that is only possible when it is fresh picked at the peak of perfection.

Agritourism, one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry, includes visits to working farms, ranches, wineries and agricultural industries. Agri-

destinations offer a huge variety of entertainment, education, relaxation, outdoor adventures, shopping and dining experiences

People started to be more thoughtful of their vacation, the turisment becoming one of the frecvent hobby in

world. Once with the first tendintions of relaxation of the vacantions in the middle of mother nature, the

tourists number starting to grow that wanted to have the vacation party in a rural enviroment.

The Romanian rural space is renamed carpato-danubiano-pontic because it is carpatic in relief, the Dunare

threw the hydrografic and pontic network with the opening in the Black Sea. Intalkable, this "geographic

personality" must be doublet in time with turistic vocation.

The Carpathians mountains chain represents a special role for the weather, water, wealth, vegetation, fauna,

sands, etc. He has the central position and fortress form or ring, because of this come-next-after the rest of

the relief formes. But what confers this place are the impresionant views: the traceryes from the tale in

chartic formes in chalcarous regions, cercuses and glacial valleys, empty peaks, novelty or weird forms of the

rocks.

Being given the richness and the beauty of the table-lands, those are well populated, and the traditions,

popular habits delivers from generation to generation , like the legends and the storyes of the inhabitants are

so many atractions near wines, brandy or gastronomic traditionals cooking as invocation, and who had the

chance to know them, as the neofit, can't rezist them.

The temperate continental climate, the radiating network of rivers that spring from the carpatic chain,

mineral waters and termat with curative proprieties, the pasture and the fountains, the deciduous and young

forests , lakes and ponds, Dunarea and her Delta, the everglades and the plains built up separate or at the

meeting point, views with a powerfull personality, full of warming people witch come along with them.

Romanian Wine

Romania has one of the oldest wine traditions in all of Europe, dating back to ancient times before Greek civilization. Indigenous grapes have always prospered, and viticulture followed. Though geographically situated as it is adjacent to Slavic countries, a good part of its culture and language is also

Latin-based owing to its southern neighbors. Dacia, as it was once called, was once a part of the Roman empire, hence the name Romania. The significant Roman influence on the culture has lasted through the centuries, with wine production in prominent roles.

In the 19th century, Romania suffered from Phylloxera as did most of the rest of the world. When the mass replanting took place, many of the indigenous varietals were replaced with more popular French ones. Today, Romanian grapes are a mix of the French-European stalwarts as well as domestic grapes

such as Frâncuşă, Fetească Albă, and Tămâioasă for whites, Fetească Neagră, and Băbească for reds. German grapes are also popular such as Welschriesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Blaufrankisch.

The Romanian climate is continental with hot and dry summers and cold winters. The Black Sea coast is one of the most balanced locations in terms of climate, with cooling influences in the summer lengthening the growing season.

Romania has its own quality control labeling standards:: Vin de Masa (table wine), Vin cu Indicatie Geografica (IGP), and Denumire de Origine Controlata(akin to AOC, DOC, etc).

Danube Delta

The Danube Delta is the second largest river deltain Europe, after Volga Delta, and is the best preserved on the continent. The greater part of the Danube Delta lies in Romania (Tulcea county), while its northern part, on the left bank of the Chilia arm, is situated in Ukraine (Odessa Oblast). The approximate surface area is 4,152 km², and of that, 3,446 km² are in Romania. With the lagoons of Razim-Sinoe (1,015 km² with 865 km² water surface), located south of the main delta, the total area of the Danube Delta reaches 5,165 km². The Razelm - Sinoe lagoon complex is geologically and ecologically related to the delta proper and their combined territory is part of theWorld Heritage Sites.
