Agritecture is the fusion of Architecture and Agriculture.
“Buildings That Grow Food”http://www.agri-tecture.com/
Architecturethe art & science of building;
specifically : the art or practice of
designing and building structures
- especially habitable ones
profession of designing buildings,
open areas, communities and
environments with consideration
for their aesthetic effect
Agriculture the science, art, or practice of cultivating
the soil, producing crops; raising, feeding
& breeding livestock and in varying
degrees the preparation and marketing of
the resulting products

History
An ancient Roman architect named Vitruvius wrote De Architectura and dedicated this book to his patron,
the emperor Caesar Augustus, as a guide for building
projects
- Three Virtues of Architecture
This formulation; for all its antiquity
remains a useful framework for the
preliminary analysis of a building.
Vitruvius gave us the ABC of architecture.
The Vitruvian Virtuesof Architecture:
Utilitas - Utility - Function
Firmitas - Strength - Durability
Venustas - Beauty - Delight

Effects of Agritecture
Agritecture is the multiplier, it is both the come – on and the output.

Sustainable Integrated Farming for 700SQM Home LotGeneral Objective:
The project aims to augment the aggregate annual income of Sycayco family of at least 50% through integrated farming by adopting organic technology and contribute in the promotion of organic farming and in the survival of our dying mother nature.
Specific Objectives: The establishment of
integrated farming adopting organic
technology aims to:
1. Increase production of at least 50% annually and a monthly
income of more or less PhP10,400.00 starting year 2013;
2. Promote integrated farming by adopting organic technology
starting in 2013 on a 700-square meter piece of land;
3. Hone the farming skills of the target proponent through the
application of integrated farming by adopting organic farming
technology;
4. Provide employment to at least 3-5 persons per cropping
season with daily wage of PhP150.00; and
5. Supply the daily food requirement of the family-proponent
starting the second quarter of the project implementation.
Project Description
The proposed project is an integrated farm that adopts
organic technology on a 600-square meter, more or
less, farm lot
The organic technology focuses on the production of
different high value commercial and cash crops like
carrots, lettuce, salad tomatoes, cucumber, and cacao
and the regular crops like ginger, turmeric, and string
beans.
Other components of the integrated farm include
carabao raising, native chicken and swine raising, and
tilapia culture. The approaches to fertilizer uses, pests
and diseases control is purely organic. In which, raw
materials come from available farm wastes,
indigenous plants and crops that are easily found and
grown within the area or nearby areas.
The crop rotation will be practiced to maintain the fertility
and condition of the soil and habitat of micro organism. At
the start of the implementation of integrated farming
system, the organic inputs will be purchased.
For the remaining 100 square meters is allocated for the building
construction such as house and mini structure with a restaurant, a
warehouse and a display area for the post harvest handling and the
open space for the planting flowering plants and herbs as insect
repellant and attractant.
Financial Analysis.
The proposed project will have a total capital requirements of
PhP207,000.00. Out of PhP207,000.00, 76% or PhP158,240.00 will
be borrowed from the City Agriculture through the Department of
Agriculture under the Greening Program distributed as follows
The projected Income Statements for crop and livestock
production, and tilapia culture will have a combined average
net income of PhP331,213.79 for a three-year operations,
with Return on Investment of 160.01%. The computation
also reveals that it has a payback period of 1.21 years.
Savings Generation/mobilization
The proposed project also considers the generation of
savings for the family. In every sale, the family will set aside
at least 1% of the total sales for the family savings. In which,
later on the 50% of the total savings could be used for
expansion of the project

Paths - the streets, sidewalks, trails, and other channels in which people travel
Edges - perceived boundaries such as walls, buildings, and shorelines
Districts - relatively large sections of the city distinguished by some identity or character;
Nodes - focal points, intersections
Landmarks - readily identifiable objects which serve as external reference points.
Determine your highest point
- Know your terrain, use it to your
advantage, minimize earth moving
- identify your sources of water
- Lowest point == ponds,
Sewage and septic tanks
No house should ever be on a hill or

Designing for the senses
Sensing Architecture
- The architect must act as a composer that orchestrates space into a synchronization for function and beauty through the senses – and how
the human body engages space is of prime importance. As the human body moves,
sees, smells, touches, hears and even tastes within a space – the architecture comes to life.

Protect and make use of your surrounding, maximize your view
God is the great mysterious motivator of what we call nature, and it has often been said by philosophers, that nature is the will of God. And I prefer to say that nature is the only body of God that we shall ever see.

The 7 P’sPrinciple of
Space and Time There is always an
opportunity in the eyes of the Agritect
There is no unproductive soil, only an unproductive farmer
There is no impossible project, only an uncreative architect
Principle of Light Hosea 4:6 – My people suffer because
they lack knowledge
“ kung walang knowledge, walang power”
Natural Lighting and Ventilation
Use available tools such as Sun path diagram, sun requirements, Shade tolerant plants,
Principle of

plant the more effective
it is an insect repellant
Red, browns and yellows

are shade tolerant plants

Principle of Stress In construction prior to installation
we apply post or pre tension to make it stronger
In plants and trees we apply
stress to it to produce and bear

In animals we apply stress to

S - Story
Remember that you are the artist, the landscape is your canvass, the plants, the animals and the structures that you put into it are your lines and colors, the brushesare the people that help you to execute it properly, as an artist you should have harmony from with in and an instinctive sense of balanceto create a perfect composition of beauty, strength and function that you could share with the world.
All Glory to God!
