Well, what a trying year it has been! A large part of the prairies and the northern U.S. have experienced the worst drought on record, but through it all, the durability of the Gelbvieh breed has shown their resilience. Cattle prices have stayed steady throughout and the fall futures look promising.

As you go through the catalogue, you will find a wide variety of cattle. We have gathered everything from purebred heifer calves, Balancer heifer calves, and a couple of bull picks, as well as a semen package. Whether you are looking for your next donor female or future herd sire, you’ll find it on sale day.

The Sweetheart Gelbvieh ClassicThe Man/Sask Gelbvieh Association is pleased to present the 18th Sweetheart Gelbvieh Classic, a people’s choice female futurity to be part of the Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show in November 2017. The Sweetheart Classic is open to any age of Gelbvieh female entered in the regular Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh show. Four finalists will be brought to the

sale where the winners will be announced. Futurity members may enter their females until November 20. The futurity entry fee is $100 per head, with a maximum of two (2) entries per membership. Memberships to the futurity will be sold for $300.00 which entitles the member to judge (one ballot) the Sweetheart Classic. Members must be present to vote. No proxy vote allowed. Members will also be entered into a draw to win the proceeds from the sale of the Sweetheart Classic Champion or the Futurity Champion, whichever is lesser. 50% of this prize will be given as cash and the remaining 50% will be a sale credit. The sale credit can be used at the 2017 Agribition Gelbvieh Sale.

The people’s choice judging of the Sweetheart Classic will take place immediately following the Gelbvieh bull show. The female Gelbvieh show will commence upon the completion of this portion of the futurity. At the end of the Gelbvieh female show, the top four (4) females as selected by the futurity members will be announced in random order. The following day, at the Canadian Western Agribition sale, the Sweetheart Classic Champion will be announced and then auctioned off as the feature lot. The consignor of the Champion Female will retain the right to one flush at their expense and the new owner’s convenience. The second place Sweetheart winner will receive a $500 Agribition sale voucher.

We are excited to offer the first daughter of AWB Birch’s Bojangles 24C by public auction. AWB Twin View Patsy 86E has been earmarked for this event from a very early age. She is a rare combination of ‘power and pretty’ being tremendously long sided and stout, sleek fronted yet broody and big volumed. We were very happy with this first group of Bojangles progeny. He was the high seller in our 2016 sale and we were fortunate enough to use him on our heifers. Bojangles calved extremely well and sired big time performance from birth to weaning. A son was selected in the pasture this summer by the 2016 American Gelbvieh Breeder of the Year, Ledgerwood Gelbvieh. He will stand beside Patsy this fall and other sons will be highlights in our spring bull sale. Patsy 86E’s two-year-old dam truly outdid herself in this first attempt with a textbook udder and ideal body condition. We are very confident Patsy will be just as productive and has all the goods to be a front pasture female for years to come.

Terms The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Certificate of Registration Each purebred animal will carry papers issued by the Gelbvieh Association of Canada or United States. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Health All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

Guarantee Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

Pregnancy Information All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be use only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

Liabilities All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that the Man/Sask Gelbvieh Association is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does the Man/Sask Gelbvieh Association assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. The Man/Sask Gelbvieh Association assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.

Delivery Every assistance will be given in getting your purchases home. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
