NIABI is “Network of Indian Agri business Incubators”. NAIP has entrusted the ABI-ICRISAT with the responsibility to handhold and mentor 10 BPDs through a project funded under its component I.
HIGHLIGHTS• The participating BPDs
have successfully commercialized 44 technologies
• Generated revenue of Rs. 2.93 crore (~$600 K)
• NIABI successfully held Global Agribusiness Incubation Conference- 2011

ICRISAT- FARA Partnership
• Proposed collaboration between the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), NIABI, ABI-ICRISAT, FARA and UniBRAIN– To facilitate the establishment of 14 more agribusiness
incubators in Africa and strengthening value-chains in the agricultural industries of 12 Sub-Saharan African countries.
• ICAR through NIABI network will partner with UNIBRAIN– To enhance the critical mass of experience and expertise
available to underpin the successful establishment of the initial six UniBRAIN incubators to be located in five countries and the establishment of another 14 incubators that will extend the UniBRAIN agribusiness incubator network to 15 countries.
UNIBRIAN-FARA partnership Initiative in Africa
ABI-ICRISAT partnered with UNIBRAIN FARA on handholding of 6 agriincubators (AIIC).
The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) Universities, Business and Research in Agricultural Innovation (UniBRAIN) initiative, is laying the foundation for promoting agribusiness and business incubation in sub-Saharan Africa
UniBRAIN presently supporting the establishment of six agribusiness incubators that will be the nucleus of the UniBRAIN agribusiness incubator network (African equivalent of NIABI).

How it Started ?
• To carry forward the Indian success story of ABI and provide inclusive growth of agricultural development in Mozambique
• Explore opportunities for setting up Agri Business Incubation in Mozambique through local NARS and ICRISAT centre.

Ababa for the Second Africa-India Forum Summit has set the stage for a big diplomatic push into a continent that is of growing economic and strategic interest for India and Indian companies
• Enhancement of existing lines of credit already totaling more than $5 billion — will be implemented across the 53-nation continent through consultation
