Status of PG&E Rebates
Current rebates cover 20-25% of fixture costs New rebates expected to be announced in Oct. Rebates will likely decline, could be eliminated Timing of change TBD, certainly 2014
Timing is becoming important

Application Considerations
Applications include: road type, pole heights, spacing, conflict
Different applications require different light levels Different applications result in different footcandles on
ground for same lumens Determining right fixture requires:
Light level target Application Mapping light levels to fixtures for given application
Fixture selection based on lumens Lab verified product spec values

Next Steps: Application & light level
1. Cities know application & levels If similar to SVL, use SVL analysis Possibly use SEAD tool for determining lumen requirements Do photometric analysis for exception cases
2. Don’t know application Sample & extrapolate (some inventory still likely required
but less extensive) Contract inventory to include application specifics
3. Don’t know light level Adopt RP-8 as guideline Use existing light level
May need photometric analysis13

Procurement Options: Fixture selection
1. Agency: comprehensive inventory & analysis by Agency to select fixtures in procurement
2. Vendor: Provide typical scenarios and lighting level requirements to vendor
3. Vendor: Objectives based (RP8, savings, improve quality, etc.)
