I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The November 4th, 2013 minutes were approved.

II.a. ARTICULATION OFFICER REPORT

Leonor Aguilera reported and distributed the Articulation Officer Report handout. The report covered Course Identification Numbering System (C-ID) Updates from the November Newsletter and SCC Conditional Approvals. Business 105 received conditional approval which expires November 8th, 2014. Discussion took place regarding “SCIGETC”. If approved, SCIGETC will be the general education pattern for Universities of California for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) that has been approved by the Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates (ICAS) for use with the Chemistry TMC.

II.b. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT UPDATE Mary Walker reported. The resolution to disband, effective Fall 2013, the Student Learning Outcome and Assessment Review Committee (SLOARC) will be voted on at Academic Senate on Tuesday, November 5th.

II.c. ACCREDITATION UPDATE Aracely Mora reported. The Accreditation Steering Committee met on Friday, November 15th. All Standard Committees submitted their drafts. The Steering Committee now has its 1st rough draft of the Self-Evaluation Report.

II.d. PLANNING AND INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS COMMITTEE REPORT

Craig Rutan reported. The Planning and Instructional Effectiveness (PIE) Committee is continuing to refine the planning process. This year’s planning process is to determine allocations for 2014-15. Departments are being asked to complete a 2014-15 Department Planning Portfolios (DPPs) that includes resource allocation request. Department chairs can roll over their current plans to begin working on 2014-15.

III. CurricUNET UPDATE Craig Rutan reported. Craig emailed Governet asking for a status update. If no response is received, Aracely Mora will send another email. CurricUNET Meta training should occur the 1st meeting is spring. Faculty are allowed to go into the current CurricUNET system and work on courses to review in 2014 but were instructed not to launch any new proposals.

X. ANNOUNCEMENTS Craig announced. In an effort to create standards for CurricUNET writing processes, a Task Force was created. Mark Smith will chair the Task Force. Joyce Wagner, Laura Wirtz and Darlene Diaz volunteered to serve. It was requested that the Honors Committee send a representative to CIC when honors courses are up for review where the honors committee had concerns with the Course Outline of Record (COR). Craig thanked the committee for staying the duration of the extended meeting to discuss all the agenda items. If all items pass at the next meeting, SCC will have completed 100% of the 2013 Quadrennial Review Cycle on time. Craig also thanked the council members who voted for him for the 2013 Faculty Excellence Award.

C-ID Updates from the C-ID November Newsletter:

111 California Community Colleges have courses with C-ID designations; that is 5359 C-ID approved courses.

Top Colleges with C-ID approved courses are Sacramento City College with 276, American River College with

274, Moorpark College 266, and Fresno City College with 265.

As of October 28, 2013 eleven (11) CSU campuses have identified 1213 CSU courses comparable to C-ID

descriptors.

There 378 C-ID approved descriptors in 32 disciplines including 140 descriptors in Agriculture.

969 AA-T and AS-T degrees have been approved at the CCC Chancellor’s Office as of 10/23/13.

Full-time CCC faculty are being recruited to serve on FDRG in the following disciplines:

Biology FDRG has been asked to reconsider the prerequisite determinations made for the various anatomy and

Chemistry-IGETC for STEM was approved for use by ICAS, the TMC will be available for use in the very near

Child and Adolescent Development-The FDRG is meeting in person sometime in November to continue their

work on the TMC for the discipline and once the draft is created it will be posted for vetting.

Information Technology/Information Systems-The FDRG met at the end of October to discuss the potential for an

information Communication Technologies model curriculum.

Nursing-The Nursing model curriculum is posted for vetting until December 6th.

Nutrition/Food Sciences/Dietetics-The FDRG held its first conference call in early November.
