What Would You Do? 1. You accidentally knock over a glass container and it breaks on

the floor. 2. You accidentally spill a large amount of water on the floor. 3. You suddenly you begin to smell a “chemical” odor that gives you

a headache. 4. You hear the fire alarm while you are working in the lab. You are

wearing your goggles and are in the middle of the experiment. 5. While your lab partner has her lab goggles off, she gets some

liquid from the experiment in her eye. In each of the following situations, explain how or why the proper

safety procedures are not being followed. 6. Gina is thirsty. She rinses a beaker with water, refills it with

water, and takes a drink. 7. It is rather warm in the laboratory during a late spring day. Anna

slips off her shoes and walks barefoot to the sink to clean her glassware. 8. While washing glassware, Mike splashes some water on Evon. To

get even, Evon splashes him back. 9. During an experiment, Lindsey decides to mix two chemicals that

the lab procedure does not say to mix, because she is curious about what will happen.
