Agency Brief on Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies
The college Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS) was established
in the year 1991 in Harihar, Karnataka. The college belongs to the Kirloskar Group. The
college provides specialization in the field of Finance, Marketing, Human Resources and
Operations with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) degree.
The institute at present is counted amongst the top 50 reputed B-schools of the country. It is
one of the best institutes of the country to hone one’s management skills. The institute does
not believe in just instilling students with the bookish knowledge, it encourages creative
thinking. The institute provides an intense atmosphere for learning and exploring oneself.
The institute soon aims to see itself among the top 20 colleges of the country. The institute
has also started a new campus in one of the near about metro cities Pune. To achieve its goal
the college calls well experienced faculties for its students. These faculties do not only give
theoretical knowledge but also provide students with practical/industry knowledge. The
college runs an Industrial Integration Programme for its students to make them aware of the
corporate culture.
On various occasions of college such as the foundation day, many renowned people from the
industry are called upon to facilitate and felicitate the students. An interactive session is
organized for the students with the industry people. They make students aware of the nitty-
gritty’s of the corporate culture which students implement in their real life. If the
management works with the same enthusiasm and students simultaneously imbibe these
values then soon KIAMS will be among the top 20 colleges of the country.
The college is promoting the institute through various social websites like pagalguy and other
portals. The college has tied up with an online agency for the advertising and branding the
college. The college has also interacts with students through various coaching institutes
across the country spreading the awareness about the college.
To achieve the set standards and raise the bar the college needs to interact with to familiarise
its students with the industry trends and get acquainted with the industry jargon so that the
students can talk in a manner that the industry accepts and applauds. The institute shall

motivate its students to take up live projects and encourage the student’s fraternity to take up
such projects.
A control process always requires a measurement and to improve the process there should bea check whether we have achieved the set targets or we have deviated. To check whether the
institute has achieved the set standards we can check by looking at the number of live
projects the students have taken up, by the quality of placements, by looking at the rising
interests of corporates through recall i.e. the number of companies revisiting the campus.
The college promotion has various dimensions to it ranging from taking help of web to direct
interaction with MBA aspirants to interaction with corporates. All the stake holders right
from the Director, Faculties and the Students are engaged in taking up such activities.
