Everyone is familiar with the world of PC’s, in fact, I am using one right now to type this article. However, many do not see how it has progressed, whether it is Red Faction, Resident Evil, Starcraft, or even Call of Duty. However, even when games have progressed, they have also been corrupted by consumer markets. One such game series is Resident Evil, which is most evident in recent series releases. Slowly, the game has turned away from survival horror, and into more action based shooters, as evident in Resident Evil: 5. Everything about the original Resident Evil is almost gone, however, the series is starting to reform back, as shown in Resident Evil Revelations, which featured elements that made the older and newer games great. Though the world of the Resident Evil series is changing from fighting a once powerful corporation, to bio-terrorism and, power hungry maniacs.

The original Resident Evil series, was most well known for it’s use of pre-rendered backgrounds. Giving a high quality background that was far beyond any other game at thus time. Even with it’s lower graphics, it still had that sense of horror. Especially when you were in danger level, when any hits are a guaranteed death. Which was another unique item, the fact that instead of a health bar, as most games did, they used the character itself to show damage. When the character was hurt, he would hold his side, when he is close to death, he would be visibly limping, showing his injured state. Along with zombies, the game had several unique enemies, such as the hunter, a humanoid reptile monster which could swipe the players head off if he was careless. Many of the weapons in the game had ammo that was hard to come by, requiring the use of the pistol on many of the less problematic enemies. Now, as you step forward, you can see that the series somewhat degraded a bit. With the release of Resident Evil 4, it threw out most of the older things that made the older Resident Evil’s scary. Instead of the danger system, they introduced the normal health bar. However, even as they introduced these, they still kept the game with a horror feel. Based upon an old spanish village, the atmosphere had a evil feel. With the color pallet having primarily dark colors. There were also quite a few monsters in the game with much more shock value than previous games, such as, the Regenerador, and Iron Maiden. Even though Resident Evil 4 was not as great horror wise, it was still a step in the right direction, however, Resident Evil 5 seemed as though it was the opposite, using bright colors and reusing old enemies from old games, such as the Licker, and dogs. There seemed to be no real consolation between horror and action. Which resulted in a disappointment for many fans of the series who were hoping for a nostalgic experience, since the game featured Chris Redfield, who was in the original Resident Evil, it will go down as a black mark, though, this is only one of several trials. The Resident Evil series has gone through several spin off ’s, such as the outbreak series, the chronicles series, and several others, some proved to be a success, some proved to not, but, no matter, that is how the game industry works, no game series will always have the greatest game. But in the end it will become something that will serve as a lesson for others.

Once the Atari game out the games where white and black and once laggy, but now the new Xbox 360 games are more powerful even ever. Games now are 1080p and the online feature is remarkable, before they where just not that good. Discs are now more powerful also cause of the large amount of things you can put in a area, for example Battlefield 3 is one of the best looking games today and has lots of items in one area. Other good example is Halo Reach, there map editor is so advanced that the Xbox cant handle it tat well. Other thing that changed is how it was carditges to discs. Before discs, to play a game you had to put in the game cardtiage in-stead of a disc. It was a hasle cause it was for one big and it wasnt has power. The Future of gaming is going to be huge , the detail is gaming to be amazing, the flow is going to be outstanding, everything is going to chaos.

Console GamingConsole gaming as changed over many of years starting with the Atari Gaming System and has evolved into what we like to call the Xbox and Playstation. Console companies like Sony and Microsoft have been ing up with new technology to make there new consoles more power.

Consoles over time have gotten more power year by year since companies have been built new technology to sup-port the system. The first consoles made like the Atari and the SEGA Genesis nstarted off has just a fun gam-ing system with just a couple controllers and some games. And later now they have got more advanced over time, but now consoles have gotten more power then people expected. Consoles have now introduced online gaming, thats where people from around the world play games to-gether and chat with each other. Consoles have also brought downloading into play, since they have online capabilty you are howed to download movies, music, games, etc.

Hand-Held Games

Gaming has evolved through time. Games such as pong or packman have been lost and had vanished in some part of the world. The cause for this is that new and more high tech game systems had been invented. The game boy for example, re-placed the old and fun games. The game boy is a system where instead of connecting the game sys-tem to a TV or monitor, the player can enjoy the fun in there hands. The game boy have 2d graph-ic, it may not seam that fence, but when they first came out they were the best seller of all time. The game boy system was also small in size and easy to carrier. The game boy system could have been taken to almost anywhere. They were great to take along with on long car rides or during class while the teacher is talking forever. The game boy was a lot of fun, but there is a new hand held system out and its called the psp. The psp stands for play station por-

table. The psp is an amazing invention. The psp is a hand held gaming system not only include sound, button, and different games. The psp include 3d graphics unlike the game boy. The psp also have joysticks for move-ment of the avatar’s view and movement of him. The games for the psp is not like the game boy because, the games is not stored on a card, they are stored on a disc. The fact that the psp plays discs is astounding.

The games of time is constantly changing. Yesterday kids were embracing simple 2d game played by the game boy. Today children are using the modern day technologic de-vices for entertainment. Tomorrow , who knows what they might invent. It could be a hand held machine that proj-ect a hollow graphic imagers to create real life events or even be a modified a machine that can take 3d images. The possibilities are endless of what could be created to make the hand held games more enjoyable by the thousands.

The first games where the consel its self like Pong by Atari. They still make game on consels like gambling games. You can even get pac man for your tv at home. Then Atari made a great invention they came out with the cartridge they made hunders of games like Dig Dug and jr. Pac Man. They made cartridges for many other gaming divises

The disc was the greats invintion in gaming history. Now you could store more data in a more conpacted way. Most games today are made on disc some game are the Call of Duty serse and the Halo serse. Now the futer of gaming is downloadable game of the internet. The systems that can do this ALL the PSP and PS3, the Wii, and ALL the XBox 360.
