Sunday School Grade 8A.G.A.P.E. Curriculum

• The AGAPE curriculum is for exceptionalstudent education [ESE] for Sunday School. Itis designed by the Coptic Orthodox Diocese ofthe Southern United States.

• This is a modified curriculum designed forindividuals with special needs.

• This curriculum is intended to be taughtalongside with the general Sunday Schoolprogram for each grade.

Sunday School Grade 8A.G.A.P.E. Curriculum

• Inclusion is an important aspect of the social andlearning paradigm of individuals with specialneeds.

• Stewards serving children and youth with specialneeds should try to integrate the students in themainstream classes for as much time as can betolerated by the student with special needs.

• Integration and inclusion foster friendships amongthe same age peer group.

– Temptations are not from God but from the Devil. Obedience means love for Christ and for Christ alone.

– Fasting is a means for achieving the life of purity, chastity, the holiness of the members of the body.

– The church tells us that the desire for food is one of the most dangerous sins in the life of man.

– We fast to show the Lord that through our hunger and thirst there is hunger in the heart. Material things cannot satisfy hunger.

– The Scripture refers to the temptation of owning and possessing as the Lust of the eyes.

– Obedience is the virtue with which you overcome the temptation of the enemy, pride, haughtiness and false praise.
