CINCINNATI, O.H.- The Peace Corps has recently hired Sara Sotelo of Louisville, Ky. as director of the new
public service announcement campaign.
The Peace Corps hired Sotelo through a five-month long contest held at universities across the country.
The contest was to present a PSA for the Peace Corps in the most creative way using all forms of media with an

Sotelo graduated last month from Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green, Ky. She

to work diligently with all forms of media, which helped her win the PSA contest and get a job with the Peace
Corps.,” said Pam Johnson, faculty of the School of Journalism and Broadcasting.
“We are very excited to have Sara leading our new PSA campaign,” said Jack Smith, President of The
Peace Corps. “We were very impressed with her skills and fresh ideas of how to present a PSA in all forms of
media. It is nice to see that schools like WKU are teaching students how to adjust to the rapid change of
technology which will help them in their field of interest.”
