The weekly Bible verse is Matthew 6:1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” Please be watching for more information to come out weekly from Mr. Villers regarding our monthly character traits. Pentagames Pentagames was developed in 1983 as an intra-school competition of math at the middle school level. Nine schools participated. It has now grown to over 70 schools competing each year at up to 10 different locations around the state. The kids play 5 different math games during the day, which are called “35 minus”, “CR Squared”, “Math-Tac-Toe”, “Solve that problem” and a group relay at the end of the day. SC recently sent 9 junior high students to the event. Our students earned the following distinctions: Luke Bellamy - 1st place in “Math-Tac-Toe”, Algebra division Algebra group (Luke Bellamy, Colin Longballa, Michael Brawn) - 1st place in “Math-Tac-Toe” Algebra group (Luke Bellamy, Colin Longballa, Michael Brawn) - 3rd place in “CR squared” 8th grade group (Maddie Scariano, Brianna Patrick, Sarah Best) - 3rd place in “CR squared” Maddie Scariano - 5th place overall, 8th grade division Luke Bellamy - 1st place overall, Algebra division SC team of 9 - 1st place overall in the relay The 7th grade team consisted of Kossy Nwaele, Bella Vanderhoof, and Makenzi Grosenbach.
