Every first Friday of the month the art galleries open their doors with exhibits, free entertainment and light refreshments. Come see the main galleries between 5 and 9 p.m., and stay for the late night party at some of the trendiest, most popular bars and restaurants in Honolulu. Jazz at the Halekulani Lewers Lounge at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikīkī is the perfect place for early evening or after dinner drinks. Unwind while enjoying live jazz every night of the week. Live music 8:30 p.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday and 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Friday & Saturday. Keep in mind there is a dress code: Evening attire for the ladies. No t-shirts, shorts or beachwear. Dress shirt, slacks and covered shoes for gentlemen. Salsa Dancing at Búho Every 5th of the Month, Búho Cantina in

Waikīkī celebrates Cinco de Búho with live Latin music from Son Caribe Band and dancing. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday Night Fireworks

Cross Currents Cross Currents three award-winning musicians from the Pro Musica Nipponia ensemble of Tokyo

perform contemporary and traditional Japanese music. Saturday, March 5th at 7:30 p.m. and

Sunday March 6th at 4 p.m. at the Orvis

Auditorium at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. General admission $20, seniors/UH faculty/Military $15, Students $ 10

Hawaiian Music There are many places in Waikīkī where you can enjoy live performances of Hawaiian music. Cyril Pahinui performs every Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Kani Ka Pila Grille, located at the Outrigger Reef, occasionally joined by other artists, including his brothers. On Thursdays Nohelani Cypriano plays at Tropics in the Hilton Hawaiian Village at 5:30 p.m. On Fridays Henry Kapono at 4 p.m. and Kapena at 9:30 p.m. play at Duke’s Waikīkī in the Outrigger Waikīkī Beach Resort.

The Friday Night fireworks are a favorite for visitors and locals alike. Every Friday night Hilton Hawaiian Village puts on a fireworks display that begins at 7:45 p.m.

and lasts for approximately 6 minutes.
