Introduction:

In my portfolio (2.)I tried to gather all of my works in a platform. Paintings (3.), those I drew dur-

ing my undergraduate years and the paintings that were drawn for my Art Exhibition (4.). I wanted

to put all of my paintings here. Because I treat my paintings as my own child. All painting arevaluable to me. I tried to place as much as I can.

Every painting has its own story. Emotions, imaginations expressed by different form of color on

canvas. When color mixed with other color in different proportion, it achieves a new personality

and a new fundamental characteristics. I tried to express them. I did experiment with colors and

different form of art techniques in my work. I explored and redistributed art patterns in my can-vas with professionalism attitude. All of the works are the result of hard works of several years.

In Bangladesh (5.) people are surrounded by natural colors. The nature gives a pure taste of differ-

ent colors. There are six seasons (6.). Each and every season has its own collection of colors. It

forms a bulk of design and scenery on the canvas of nature. Plants, animals, hills, crop lands, riv-ers, birds all are the product of creative painting.

Bangladesh is land of rivers (7.). Large rivers flows in all part of it. Rivers are the sign of power. It

is also a source of art theme. Bangladeshi civilization (8.)grows up in basis of this rivers. It serves

fresh drinking water fresh fish and water for irrigation. The bank of rivers are full of naturalscenery and natural beauty. Is has a big contribution in making a painter to mature level.

Civilization lives in this country for many centuries. There are different religions (9.)and their cul-

tures and traditions grows up in parallel. Many rulers ruled this land in different ages. Hindu ma-harajas Empire(10.), The Mughals Empire(11.) and at last the British Empire (12.)enhanced our art

and cultural diversity. Their architectural(13.)

technology and designs has great art value.

Many people live in urban (14.)areas and rest of them live in rural (15.)area. Some people live inhill tracks. Around 71.90% (16.)of population live in rural areas. Their main profession is agricul-

ture. They are sign of purity and simplicity. Different types of culture and profession generate

many ideas which reflects in my works. My art work are related with this simple rural people andtheir daily activity. I tried to put them in my canvas (17.)with fusion (18.)of some creativity.

My world starts and ends in ART. Yes, it is fine art. All of my dreams, activities, and my works,all are related with it. When I sleep it present in my dream and when I remain awake I am sur-

rounded by it. So, art related works get the priority. I like to play with colors and invent new art

forms. My inspirations are the traditional art(19.)

forms of rural people of Bangladesh. Duringcenturies rural people developed their art techniques in tradition by tradition. Village woman (10.)who draws design in their traditional mud house(21.), Nokshi Kantha(22.), Potter makes differ-

ent forms of clay pots (23.) and draw design on it, shows their developed art sense. I just put

them on my canvas with help of brush and colors.

BIOGRAPHY

Alam Sabrina Afrin grew up in Dinajpur(26.)

,Bangladesh. It is a small rural town seated in

a region of rivers, streams, cropland and

open grounds. Spending her formative yearsamong nature and country life fostered the

growth of her down to earth philosophy and

love of the outdoor.

Her passion for the visual arts grew through

her school and led her to enroll at university

of development Alternative (UODA) (27.).

Which provided enriching opportunities tohelp mold Afrin in to a well-rounded youth.

During her days in Art school she worked as

a volunteer Art teacher of childrens Artschool. She graduated (28.) in 2013 with a

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) (29.) degree in

Oil painting (30.).

After completing her graduation, she got

employment at Masranga Television (31.)as

a Creative Add. Designer.

The majority of her works are painted in a

realistic style (32.). Still lifes containing oddassortments of objects and Experiment in

historic architecture are among her most re-

cent works.

Ideals she strives to embody are: self-

improvement and personal growth, behaving

considerably to other people, a willingness

to try new things, keeping family and friends

important, maintaining a spiritual life, hon-esty and integrity and staying physically fit.

Afrin has peculiar sense of humor and after

sacrificing a little dignity for the sake of

laughter. Her past times include playing gui-tar, acting, singing, watching movies, travel-

ling, listening songs, cooking and more.

ARTISTS STATEMENT

I have always found a fascination in Tex-tures, Distortions and the visual intrigue

which can be seen in everyday objects and

places. The subject matter I have found onthis theme is extensive. I believe almost eve-

ryone can be made into an interesting com-

position if viewed and presented properly.

My Reflections series is based on the hu-

mor and complicated distortions found in

reflective objects. I am most pleased whenViewers tell me that, they have looked at a

faucet or cooking pot differently because of

my painting.

I also enjoy the subtle but rich variations of

texture and tone in old tools, rusty and odd

thinks. I think this still lifes while not widein color range, have a complexity of texture

which is very engaging.

My most recent works include an ongoingseries of objects and Experiment in historic

architecture. I find watching fields of cattle

soothing and y intention for these paintingsis to capture the feelings. I also think mod-

ern art forms have a lot of possibilities for

interesting close-up compositions because oftheir angular bone structure.
