Republic of the Philippines ) Province of Leyte ) SS City of Tacloban ) VERIFIED EXPLANATION I, DELFINA D. GEREZ, Loans Staff of the Armed Forces and Police Savings & Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI), Tacloban Branch, in compliance with the Memorandum dated 8 May 2008 of Branch Manager Edwin G. Gonzales in relation to the Referral Letter dated 30 April 2008 of EVP & GM RAdm Alfredo Abueg, Jr. about an attached anonymous letter complaint of @ “Police Officer Capricorn”, under oath respectfully submits this Explanation, to wit: Alias Police Officer Capricorn surmises in par. 4 of his letter-complaint that “this guy seems to be discourteous and arrogant”. He further avers that several times she went to the AFPSLAI office, “still Mrs. Delfina Gerez had not changed her style .” It is true that my style or the usual way I perform my job as a receiving clerk is to maintain a loud hoarse voice with a regional (waray-waray) intonation when calling the names of applicants. But certainly, it is not my character or reputation to be discourteous or arrogant to anyone. Perhaps, that would explain why Police Officer Capricorn chose the word “seems” when he/she was speculating about my character. I hope that my naturalness would not be mistaken as a vice, and pray that this incident would not occur again in the future. It is respectfully submitted that this verified explanation finds merit and kind consideration of this Office. Thank You.

(AFPSLAI), Tacloban Branch, in compliance with the Memorandum dated 8 May 2008 of Branch Manager Edwin G. Gonzales in relation to the Referral Letter dated 30 April 2008 of EVP & GM RAdm Alfredo Abueg, Jr. about an attached anonymous letter complaint of @ Police Officer Capricorn, under oath respectfully submits this Explanation, to wit:

Alias Police Officer Capricorn surmises in par. 4 of his letter-complaint that this guy seems to be discourteous and arrogant. He further avers that several times she went to the AFPSLAI office, still Mrs. Delfina Gerez had not changed her style.

It is true that my style or the usual way I perform my job as a receiving clerk is to maintain a loud hoarse voice with a regional (waray-waray) intonation when calling the names of applicants. But certainly, it is not my character or reputation to be discourteous or arrogant to anyone. Perhaps, that would explain why Police Officer Capricorn chose the word seems when he/she was speculating about my character.

I hope that my naturalness would not be mistaken as a vice, and pray that this incident would not occur again in the future.

It is respectfully submitted that this verified explanation finds merit and kind consideration of this Office.

Thank You.
