Conclusion:The creation of an oval that complies with AFL or Auskick recommended sizes, even for the youngest age groups, would be very expensive to achieve and highly disruptive to other school facilities, existing vegetation, and the neighbourhood character. Such works are therefore not recommended.It is proposed that AFL activities on the site occur within the available space (which allows for training at all levels, but not matches on an oval conforming to standards). Surface improvements, boundary netting, and a pavilion are proposed that will improve the site for AFL training.

Conclusion:The school oval is already large enough to accommodate the minimum recommended under 6 & 7 and under 8 & 9 Miniroos pitch sizes. With some earthworks, the site could also accommodate the mimumum recommended under 10 & 11 Miniroos pitch (if run-off areas around the pitch are minimised). This would allow the site to cater to the soccer needs of most primary school aged children. The creation of a pitch that complies with recommended sizes for senior matches would be very expensive to achieve and highly disruptive to other school facilities, existing vegetation, and the neighbourhood character. Such works are therefore not recommended.

Earthworks undertaken to square-up corner to maximise possible soccer pitch dimensions (approx. 80m2 cut area, max cut depth 2m)

Retaining to be provided by boulders, creating play value for the school as a rock ‘scramble wall’, and could also include slides or other play elements.

Proposed shelter/pavilion. Including an undercover area (approx. 30 square metres), two all-abilities unisex toilet cubicles (large enough to be used for changing), and a small secure storage area (for training aids such as witches hats).

Proposed high netting (90m long, 5m high) allows fuller use of the available space without the need to fetch balls from the steep vegetated areas beyond the playing surface.

Surface improvement works (regrading and turf establishment) across whole playing surface (approx. 3000 square metres).
