In the midst of the world economic challengein 2008/09, Singapore pulled off our very firstAerospace Supplier eXchange 2009, which wasgreeted with resounding success, creating theplatformforoverSGD$8milliondollarsworthofdealstobenegotiated.Thebeginningof2010leadsthewaytoapositivegrowth in the Singapore aerospace industry,mirroringthatofothergrowth-orientedaerospacehubs in the Asia-Pacific as well as Europe andAmericas. The bulk of aerospace growth, bothin Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul as wellas AerospaceManufacturingwill be in the Asia-Pacific, as expounded by many aviation studiesandconsultanciesallovertheworld.AeroStrategyLimited projects that MRO growth in the Asia-PacificwillgrowataCAGRofat least5.1%,andotherstatisticsshowaerospacemanufacturingintheregionwillcontinuetoboom.Singapore leads the pack, having experiencedupto13%CAGRinMROsince1990,andsimilardouble-digitgrowthinmanufacturinginthesameperiod.
